Yunet rose before dawn to get Princess Lucenys' things ready when she was interceded by palace guards.

"Where are you taking me?" Yunet demands as she is taken to the dungeons. "I am the Septa of Princess Lucenys. You have no right to imprison me."

Yunet was put in the dungeon with the other servants. Beside her was Queen Alicent's head maid.

"What happened?" Yunet asked in a low voice.

"The king is dead," she whispered, as if it were a secret.

Yunet looked at the door, sweet Lucenys was alone.

"Let me out! I have to go to Princess Lucenys!" Yunet shouted, clinging to the bars. "The princess is alone! I need to go to Princess Lucenys!"

Aemond was reading near the fire when he was informed by his mother of the king's death.

"And Lucenys?" Aemond asked. "Does she know about the news?"

"No. Like Princess Rhaenys, they are locked in their chambers oblivious to this situation," Mother answered. "I need you to go find Aegon with Ser Criston."

Aemond looked towards the door.

"Who will tell Lucenys the news?"

"You, tonight. After you find Aegon," she replied. "You are her fiancé, it is your duty to comfort her at this time. We will crown Aegon tomorrow and the wedding will be brought forward to next week, with Lucenys being your wife, Rhaenyra will have to accept the surrender."

Aemond looked out the window, it was already morning and Lucenys should probably be awake by now.

Lucenys woke up exalted.

She could see that it was already morning. She carefully looked towards the window, her heart began to beat when she saw many nobles going towards a specific place.

She ran to the door and desperately started banging on the door.

"What's wrong?!" Lucenys shouted, hitting the door with the palm of her hand. "Why are they keeping me locked up?! SEPTA YUNET!", she slammed towards the door. "Grandma Rhaenys! Grandma Rhaenys!"

No one responded, she began to feel her chest beating harder, she turned her body towards her room, suddenly she began to feel the walls closing around her, suffocating her.

"Help! Help!" She began to sob as she slammed both hands on the door. "Please help!"

Defeated, she fell to the ground with her face full of tears.

Aemond tackled Aegon. His brother thrashed around like a wounded animal saying that he didn't want the throne and that they should let him go.

"Let me go and I'll find a ship to run away on." Aegon placed his hands on Aemond's face. "You can be king and you can make your precious Lucenys queen. That way, Rhaenyra will never take her away from you."

Aegon laughed in despair, but that offer sounded tempting. If Rhaenyra became queen without hesitation she would break her engagement to Lucenys, but if he became king...

"The queen awaits," Cole interjected, taking Aegon's shoulder.

His brother looked at him with contempt when he noticed that his plan made in desperation did not work.

Alicent had the guards open the door to Lucenys' room. Perhaps it was better for her to break the news of the king's death herself.

"Gods," she said when she saw Lucenys on the floor, she carefully approached and saw traces of tears on her face. She quickly ordered one of her guards to put her on the bed.

Alicent sat on the edge, next to her. She carefully stroked her hair, her features were beautifully sad, making her look like the protagonist of a love song.

"Don't worry, Lucenys." Alicent looked at the face of her future good daughter. She was delicate like flowers in spring. "Aemond will take good care of you. He's a good boy."

Aemond couldn't stop thinking about Aegon's words.

That way, Rhaenyra will never take it away from you.

The escape plan failed him. What else could Aemond do to stop Rhaenyra from taking her daughter from him?

He remembered the kiss he gave her in the hallways, how a torrent ran through his chest and desire welled up on his skin. He stood up and walked out towards Lucenys' chambers.

In the hallway the servants continued with their work, except for the Septa of Lucenys who remained in the dungeons.

"Leave," he ordered the two guards guarding the door. He stared at them, they lowered their heads and left.

Aemond opened the door to Lucenys' room. Sitting near the fire was she, still in her red nightgown and her hair down, in her hands was a handkerchief with an unfinished embroidery.

"Aemond" she stood up. "What's wrong? Where is Septa Yunet?"

"The king is dead," Aemond told her and watched as she quickly went from calm to crying.

She covered her mouth with her hand as she sat down on the floor. Her face quickly began to bathe in tears at the news, he carefully closed the door behind them and approached her.

He took her in his arms and allowed her to cry, so they spent a few minutes near the fire letting her sob.

"My mother". Lucenys raised her head, her voice sounding hoarse. "We must tell my mother. We must tell my mother."

When she tried to stand up, Aemond squeezed her with a little force. If they gave notice to Dragonstone, they would take her away.

"Aemond..."

"Aegon will be crowned and I will have what he promised me."

Lucenys was able to slip out of Aemond's arms and ran towards the door, but he was quick to her and took her on her shoulder carrying her towards the bed.

"Help! Help!" she started kicking. "Someone help!"

"I have waited years for my fiancée," Aemond said placing her on the bed. "I'm not going to let them take you away from me."

"Don't do this, please..." Lucenys sobbed, and Aemond moved on top of her, keeping his hands on her shoulders to keep her on the bed.

Carefully he removed the handkerchief from her mouth, her breathing was heavy, he fixed her nightgown. Aemond lay down next to her and pulled her into his arms.

And in the darkness of the night, Aemond watched his wife sleep.
