Winterfell had blue mornings.
Lucenys woke up wrapped in thick furs that kept her warm at night. Two maids came in with a basin and helped her dress for the day.
"And what are your names?" Lucenys asked, she liked to know the name of the people who helped her. "They didn't introduce us yesterday."
"I'm Betsy," said the maid with black hair and honey eyes.
"I'm Camille," answered the other blonde-haired maid with blue eyes and freckles.
"It's a pleasure," Lucenys enthuses.
They dressed her in a light purple dress made of very thick fabric along with a pink cape with brown fur threads.
"Do you like the dress, princess?" Betsy asked as she placed her pearl necklace with the Seven Pointed Star on it.
"It's lovely".
"Lord Stark knew about your arrival and had some dresses made with layers for the cold," Camille commented as she spread perfume on her neck and wrists. "Do you want to wear gloves, princess?"
Lucenys shook her head and noticed a pocket in her cloak, she put the light gloves away for later.
"And my brother?".
"The prince is preparing to go hunting with Lord Stark," Camille replied. "They will leave after breakfast. Will you go with them?"
"No," Lucenys shook her head. "I have no skills in sword or bow."
"The ladies are waiting for you in the small dining room to break your fast," Betsy told her. Lucenys curled her hair a little with her fingers and walked towards the small dining room.
Jacaerys was already there dressed for the hunt and next to him was Lord Stark. Cregan saw her first and stood up from where he was sitting, bowing his head in greeting.
"Princess Lucenys," he greeted her. Lucenys looked down a little, Cregan Stark was someone with a strong presence that made her feel small.
But in their years of correspondence, they had formed a friendship. She felt Cregan's words were those of a natural leader.
He sometimes wrote about the northern lands and how they prepared for Winter or their exchanges of topics.
Unlike Aemond, whose presence intimidated her. Cregan's presence was...warm.
"I hope you had a pleasant night princess." Stark opened the chair for her and she thanked him, smiling as she sat across from her brother.
"Very much. My room is very warm," Lucenys replied, smiling at him.
Cregan's presence was so warm that she forgot about the three northern ladies who were also in the dining room with Sara.
Lucenys greeted them and asked how they slept last night.
Lady Karstark asked what she wanted to do that day and Lucenys did not know what to answer. She was always with Septa Yunet walking through the villages of Dragonstone or working with embroidery, or she was dedicated to taking care of her baby siblings.
"Princess Lucenys," Cregan said. "Lady Mormont is a trusted healer. I remember that your letters mention your interest in the subject of healing. Perhaps Lady Mormont will serve as a complementary teacher to Maester Killan, although she is already very elderly to the Maester."
"Are you a healer?" Lucenys asked.
"I am not a Westerosi by birth," smiling Lady Mormont. "I was from Volantis but ended up in Westeros captured by the Ironmen. I escaped when they attacked Bear Island."
