Chapter 8

Wonwoo pull up his car to Mingyu lane, awakening both guys from the awkwardness in the car. When he got out, Mingyu immediately noticed that his house was in complete darkness except for the front door.

"Mom already went to sleep?" the younger narrowed his eyes, hoping to see some light from the kitchen

"But my mom was in there too." They both looked at each other, then back to avoid eye contact.

Mingyu got the house key from his backpack and unlocked the door. Wonwoo followed him, wanting to know if his mother was still here and just as he thought, he saw his mother's shoes at the entrance.

The younger slowly walked toward the kitchen, no sites of his mother or Wonwoo's mother.

"It could not be that both our mothers are asleep together, right?" Mingyu turned to ask the older and he just received back a shrug.

Exactly as he said, when Mingyu peaked into his mother's room, he found both of them already off to dreamland. While Wonwoo tried to tiptoe behind the younger to see the inside of the room, Mingyu decided he had enough peering into his mother's room so he turned around, closed the door and came face to face with the older one.

Both of them stared into each other huge eyes for some seconds to which the older broke it in flustered.

"So hyung, do you want to stay for a night?" Mingyu embarrassedly touched his neck with one hand and another rubbed away his sweat. 

"You have guest room?"

"N-No"

"Where do you want me to sleep then? On the sofa?"

"I mean if you don't mind, only if you really don't mind, umm"

Wonwoo stayed silent at the hallway, motioned to Mingyu to continue saying his suggestion even though he might have a slight idea what the younger meant.

"Umm, I have a spare mattress in my room for when my friends want to sleepover so you can take my bed and I could sleep at that mattress."

Wonwoo blinked once and twice, still seeing Mingyu hopeful face.

"It's okay if you don't want to. You can come to pick up aunty- "

"Show me the way."

"Huh?"

"The way to your room"

"Are you fine sleeping here?"

"I mean you are the one that suggest to go to your room so if you are fine in showing me yours, I would be fine too."

"Okay then"

Mingyu led Wonwoo to his room which was on another end of the hall. He was not use to have guest over, usually they were just Soonyoung and Seokmin come to work on their assignment and eventually worked until they had sleepover since they claimed that it was too dark to go back home. His mother saw three adults trying to squeeze onto the queen size bed to which she went out to buy another mattress to put on the floor for them to could sleep easier.

As soon as Mingyu switch on his bedroom light, Wonwoo could see the room's interior design. Just as Mingyu's bright personality, his room were decorated with a lot of aesthetic pictures starting from nature, flowers, buildings and posters of some bands. There is a row of LED lights on the ceiling. His bed? Probably because he woke up late this morning that clothes were all over there.

"Sorry hyung, my room is a bit messy. You can sit on that chair. I'll prepare the bed."

Wonwoo just nodded and headed to where the younger told him to. The chair that he seated was connected to Mingyu's workplace. He could observe how tidy Mingyu was.

His books were sorted into different types, aside from his lecture notes, the boy owned a batch of novels too. On the upper shelves, there were albums, CD player, building bricks and figures of animation.

In the meantime, Mingyu pulled out the rolling mattress along with his spare pillow and blanket from his wardrobe and placed it near his bed. He then put his clothes that plastered on the bed back into the same wardrobe.

He then took out a pair of sweatpants and white tshirt, extended to the older.

"You can shower in here, I'll go shower downstairs."

"Alright, thank you, kid." he grabbed the clothes and went to the bathroom.

The younger came back from his shower to find his hyung's back facing the door. He admitted checking him out with his own clothes on, a little bit huge but that was the smallest in his closet.

"Hyung, why aren't you go to sleep?" Mingyu spoke up suddenly making Wonwoo dropped the picture frame that he looked earlier.

"S-Sorry Mingyu, I should have asked for your permission first before looking into your stuff." Wonwoo quickly apologized to the younger but it's seemed that he didn't mind as he started walking to the older with assuring smile.

"It's okay, hyung. I guess you noticed that there was a burn mark on the photo." Mingyu picked up the picture frame again and caressed it.

"This is the only photo of younger me and mom that survived through the fire from my childhood home. The others were gone." the younger sadly said.

Wonwoo noted that the father figure was missing from the picture and never once that Mingu had mentioned him. He thought that the father could probably be outside of the country working. Instead of getting the answer to his curiosity, he chose to keep his mouth shut.

"Kid, you're sure you're good with sleeping on the floor," Wonwoo asked

"Yes, hyung and stop calling me kid. I'm twenty now" Mingyu whined, jutting out his lips.

"Basically a kid," the older replied, heading to the bed.

Mingyu rolled his eyes, but kept on his usual face as Wonwoo was still a guest at his house.

"Hyung, you sleep with light on or off."

"Whatever you usually do, I'm fine with both."

Well, Mingyu was not use to sleep with light on, so it's a win-win situation for him. After turning off the light, he sprinted to his mattress.

"Good night, hyung." he said then received nothing back. He thought the older might as well already asleep before him.

"Mingyu, I'll go on that date with you. And uhh good night to you too."

"Okay, hyung." the said boy replied back softly, the flush crept up to his face.

Both of them dozed off to dreamland with wide smile adorned on their faces.

Hello to 'Love is beautiful' readers, this is a scheduled release since I want give some space in between each chapter.

But I especially come to tell that I need a tiny break since it was my final exam session now. I need to survive my junior year TT, I'm falling behind so back.

No worry though, I'll come back before the year end. So, look forward to the new chapter. 🫡
