During lunchtime, Wonwoo brought his now boyfriend to the third floor where most restaurants were located. The tempting smell from each eatery made Mingyu's stomach growl faintly, enough to let Wonwoo know that his boyfriend was in need of food to be filled.
His boyfriend. Mingyu is Wonwoo's boyfriend.
Two simple words that Wonwoo took pride in admitting, he was ready to shout to the whole plaza that Mingyu is his pretty boyfriend and only his.
Halting in his step, Wonwoo was confused on why Mingyu suddenly stopped on his track. He then understood the reason when he focused to the way that the younger stared to. It was a place that sold Malatang.
"Darling, do you want to eat here?" Wonwoo asked, catching Mingyu's attention.
"Can we?" Mingyu's eyes sparkled.
"Of course, we can." It's been a while since he had the Chinese dish too, "Come on, let's go in."
The place was slowly filled with people, Wonwoo had been to this floor often but he didn't recognise this restaurant. Apparently, they sold according to the weight of the ingredients that each person wanted to put in their Malatang; a dollar for every fifty grams of meat and eighty cents for every fifty grams of vegetable. The staff at the restaurant told them the procedure from getting the ingredients to the check out.
Mingyu was hyping at the way all of the contents were laid out in front of him, he immediately grabbed the tray which was sectioned into two places; one for the vegetable and another for the meat. This made the job of the staff that weighted each element easier. The younger man started with the vegetables, he took some of the mushrooms, greens, bean sprouts and noodles. Moving to the meat section, he stuffed the tray with varieties of meatballs, beef, duck blood, chicken feets, and dumplings. Mingyu frequently paused and asked his older boyfriend if he wanted to eat anything and Wonwoo always replied back that he would eat whatever Mingyu had chosen.
Only after finishing choosing the ingredients that Mingyu realized he had picked too much for two people, but Wonwoo assured him that they could finish it even though the older man wasn't sure about that himself too.
They waited in line for the weighting and checking. Coming to their turn, the staff asked if they wanted any beverages to accommodate with their food to which Mingyu responded that they wanted two cans of coke. The total amount was set to be almost thirty bucks. Mingyu enlarged his pupil when the staff showed that the ingredients he had picked was nearly two kilograms.
"Hyung, can we put some back? This is insanely too much." Mingyu grabbed Wonwoo's biceps.
"It's okay, we can stop when we're full." Wonwoo gave his card for the cashier to charge.
"What kind of soup would you like sir?" The staff signaled to the board on top, "We have dry mala, mala soup, tomato soup and tom yum soup."
"Mingyu, what do you want?"
"Let's get mala soup."
"Great choice, sir." The staff noted it down and passed it to the chef along with the ingredients, "our waiter will guide you to your seat."
"Please, follow me." Wonwoo held Mingyu's hand and trotted behind the young waiter.
He led them to a couple seats and excused himself to bring them their beverages and small bowls to share the Malatang.
Wonwoo chuckled lightly when he saw that their table was decorated with a batch of tulips and a candlelight on the side.
"It felt as if they knew what we did earlier." Mingyu giggled, and it's the sound that Wonwoo swore to listen to for the rest of his life.
