Wonwoo rushed both of them to the hospital with the address that Chan provided. The younger brother was also a crying mess, telling the details through Mama Kim's phone. Apparently, she was cooking their dinner when she started coughing unusually loud and frequent as if she was trying to catch up with her breathing pattern. She crouched down to hold her chest, Chan panicked at the sight. At the moment she was about to pass out, he managed to grab his stepmother's phone off the counter and quickly dialed the emergency number asking for help.

Shortly after, an ambulance arrived at their house, and the medical team quickly took them to the local hospital, which was a 30-minute drive away. Chan was allowed in the ambulance to accompany Mama Kim who got various tubes inserted onto her.

The young teenager was holding her hand, praying to God to keep her safe. He wasn't under her wings until a month ago and he was already attached to her.

The couple had arrived at the hospital, Mingyu was frantically searching for his younger brother with Wonwoo trailing behind closely. He finally found him sitting on the bench in front of the emergency room, his face down supported by his hands.

When hearing the rapid footsteps, Chan got up and ran to hug his older brother, sobbing in his arms.

"H-Hyung," Chan tightened his hug and buried his face in Mingyu's chest, "I'm s-scared."

"It's okay." Mingyu caressed his hair, "Mom is strong. She is going to be okay."

"Where is she?" Wonwoo asked

"She is in the ER, hyung." "She had been in there for an hour already."

Mingyu took a shaky breath, controlling his tears. He tried to be strong for his brother and also his mother. Wonwoo's heart hurts, seeing the mask that his boyfriend put on his face, hiding his own sorrow. He wanted to do nothing but wrap his arms around the duo brothers.

"Have you eaten anything yet, Chan?"

"I'm not hungry, hyung." Chan replied back, smiling sadly at the older.

"You still need to eat." Wonwoo said sternly, "I'll go to buy something for both of you."

Wonwoo placed an assured kiss on top of Mingyu's head before heading out of the building to the food vendors in front of the hospital.

Mingyu led Chan to the bench that he had sat earlier. Calming both of them down, the older one looked at the 'emergency' letters lit up above the double door, indicating that the operation was still ongoing. He clapped his hand together, praying to every existing creature to keep his mother safe behind that closed door, while Chan was sniffing silently beside him and glanced at the same direction.

Wonwoo trotted back with a plastic package, containing two sandwiches and two bottles of water.

"I know you don't want to eat anything right now, but have this. At least to gain energy, fight this storm together with your mother." He smiled softly at them.

They knew that the oldest was right. The night was going to be long, they needed to have something within their stomach to withstand it. Mingyu stopped after two bites, saying that he could only handle that much food for the moment, otherwise his inside would turn back against him. Wonwoo nodded in understanding, encouraging his boyfriend to drink a lot of water instead. He peeked at the clock on the tropical white wall of the hospital as it striked 9pm, his stomach twirled uncomfortably.

Mingyu let his head rest on Wonwoo's shoulder, seeking comfort from his boyfriend, to which Wonwoo complied immediately and whispered words to ease Mingyu's troubled mind. Chan walked to the other side of the oldest male and flopped his head on his shoulder too. Wonwoo was surprised but he didn't say anything, just allow both of them to have their way. After all, they were having a hard time.
