"Chan-ah, can you help me bring the mattress to the living room?" Mingyu called from his bedroom.

"Yes, hyung." Chan sprinted to Mingyu's room to retrieve the soft thing that he asked.

The Jeon family decided to enter the new year together with the Kim family, insisted by Mama Jeon. Beside, she was drinking beer with her husband, Mingyu and Wonwoo. Mama Kim and Chan were exceptions; Mama Kim cannot drink alcohol while she was on medication and Chan were minor. Mr. Jeon refused to drink at first since he had the responsibility to drive home but Mama Jeon wanted to stay there, saying that it would not be fun with only two of them.

At the end, Mingyu gave up his comfort room to the Jeon couple to join Chan and Wonwoo on the mattress in the living room. Though he wasn't sure if the mattress would fit well with three people, any of them could just take the sofa.

The clock struck 11pm, those who had alcohol drinks were tipsy but Mama Jeon was drunk. She was seen giggling, pinching Chan's cheeks and hugging him like a koala. Mr. Jeon would often peel her off from the youngest, yet not even a minute went by that she was back on his neck. She was vivaciously cheering her drink with everyone; Wonwoo had high alcohol tolerance, often chucked down from his mother's can so that she would consume the bitter drink less. She still got herself drunk.

Chan didn't mind, he liked the woman's affectionate side and giggled with her. He had received this kind of treatment with his mother before, he was glad that he saw his mother within these two women.

"Hon," Mr. Jeon sighed, "if you continue to be like this, we have to take you to bed first." he playfully warned, "we can't have you entering the new year in this drunken state."

"You hate me like this?" her eyes got teary.

"No, no," he quickly denied, Wonwoo snickered at his father's poor choice of words, "I don't hate you like this. But we don't want anyone missing all of those fireworks and fun stuff to take care of you, do we?" He rubbed her back in circle with smoothing manner.

"Gyu," Mama Jeon called, when she saw that her son finished setting the mattress, "help mom get some lemons from the fridge, please."

"Sure, mom," he halted on his step, "for what?"

"The sourness in lemon helps with sobering up." Mingyu's mouth formed an 'O' in understanding.

The tall guy trotted back to the backyard with pre-cut lemon in his hand. He grabbed an empty plastic cup and squeezed out the juice, then passed it to Mr. Jeon to feed her. Yeonsu made a disgusted expression, sticking her tongue out from the sour texture of lemon.

"Good job, hon." Mr. Jeon praised his wife.

She giggled a bit at her husband's compliment. Her eyes began to feel heavy, just before she was about to pass out, Mr. Jeon asked her if she wanted to be awoken before midnight. She answered with determination that she wanted to celebrate the new year together, so he had to wake her up no matter how much she would protest.

Yeonsu passed out on her husband's chest after cannot control her sleepiness anymore with Beomsoo's arms wrapped around her waist, providing more comfortable position. Her makeup would be sticking to his shirt, nonetheless he let her snuggle close and passionately kiss on top of her head.

Mingyu, who had been sitting next to the elder couple, shifted slightly from the public display of affection. Not that he was uncomfortable at the action, more like he was envious of them. His first institution was to look at his Wonwoo hyung who was taking small bites of the barbeque in front of him.

He had been so caught up with his school and family that he forgot about Wonwoo, the guy he saw as his potential boyfriend. After the day he went to his hyung's house with the soup, they were too busy to catch up with each other and seemed distant. Seeing how they did teasing interactions with each other this very night made him realize how much he missed being with his hyung. He wasn't sure of how Wonwoo was feeling about all of this.
