"Mom!!"
Mingyu and Chan speeded toward Mama Kim as soon as they were allowed in her room. They engulfed her into a hug, yet be mindful of her weakened state. Seowon chuckled, brushing her hands on her sons' head slightly.
Moving to the new room, Mama Kim had fewer tubes than when she was in the emergency area. Her breath no longer needed to be supported by oxygen tank. Her face was less pale, she looked much healthier already.
"Mama misses you both too." Her smile went unnoticed by them, "How long has it been already?"
"Only a day." Mingyu answered.
"Thank goodness." she sounded surprised, "I thought that I had slept for a year already."
"We were so worried, mom." Chan pulled back to properly look at her, scanning from head to toes. He was genuinely distraught about this incident.
"Don't worry, I need to see my babies being a successful person first before I die." she chuckled and stroked their faces gently.
"No, even if we are successful, you are still going to live." Mingyu argued, abruptly shaking his head, "You're going to live until you're hundred."
"Wouldn't that be too long?" Mama laughed heartily, yet she highly doubted if she would be able to make it until seventies.
"Nope, you're going to live as healthy as before and take care of your grandchild." Mingyu's mouth ran faster than his brain and when he realized what he had said, both of his hands went straight to cover it. He looked like a deer in the headlights.
His gaze went everywhere in the room, from the ceiling to the extra bed for caretaker beside the patient's, literally avoiding every human being.
"I probably need to rush Wonwoo for that then." Mrs. Jeon interrupted them. And the whole room was sent into a fit of laughter, except the targeted male, who was as bright as a tomato.
"Oh! Yeonsu-yah," Mama Kim's eyes flickered to her best friend, "Didn't see you there."
"Yeah, cause you only had your eyes on your kids. I'm not that important anymore." Yeonsu faked wiping her tears.
"Come here," Yeonsu pouted her lips, inviting Seowon for a hug.
"You freaked me out a lot, you know that." She went on sobbing in the other woman's arm, "You're not allowed to leave before I do, did you hear me?"
"Sure, sure." Yeonsu answered while tapping deliberately on her back.
Each person inside the cubicle could feel the heartrending raw emotion from both women. They were trying to bottle up their own tears, when Mr. Jeon went to give comfortable rubs on her head.
A knock from outside echoed and the door slowly opened, revealing a thick black hair, glasses man that Mingyu had been waiting for, looking as fine as ever with his office attire and loosed black tie. He beamed right away when they locked their eyes.
"Hey son." Mr. Jeon called.
"Hi dad, mom, auntie," Wonwoo greeted the elders, carrying a fruit basket, "I bought some fruit."
He silently asked his dad with eyes of the situation they were in, when noticing that his mother was still weeping. He made a face that read 'she's in her emotional state, don't ask her anything' and Wonwoo got the meaning of it already. Seowon moved aside, leaving the space for her son to greet her best friend.
"How are you feeling, auntie?" hesitantly, he placed his hand above the patient's.
"I'm good. Still a bit tired, though. Thank you for asking, dear." he smiled at her.
