Chapter 16

Both men were stunned by each other appearance. They didn't ask for each other occupations; Wonwoo only knew that Mingyu is a university student by chance when he drove the younger to catch up on his exam, meanwhile to Mingyu, what the older did for living never once crossed his mind.

"Yes, sir. Mingyu, this is our manager..." Minhee looked back and forth between the two guys who lost in the other's gazes. "You guys know each other?"

"Ye-"

"No, no, we didn't," Wonwoo interfered, "I didn't know him."

Mingyu's heart sank.

After the yesterday's date, after all of the caring things the older did for him, making his heart fluttering in all sorts of way, he said that we didn't know each other?

What was the reason? Did he do something wrong? Did he get embarrassed that his date only start to work as intern?

Many questions popped up in Mingyu's head. Minhee had waved her hand in front of his face many times already, yet he was still in dazed.

"Mingyu, I think Seungcheol hyung send you your work."

"Oh, I see." the intern answered half-heartedly, "Thank you, Minhee-ssi."

"Just call me noona," she grinned, "Tell me if you have another problem with the work, alright?"

"Yes, noona."

With heavy heart, Mingyu embark on his first ever work.

Seungcheol made up his mind to go to Jeonghan department to resolve their issue. Once he arrived there, he chickened out, only standing outside of the department room. He noticed that Jisoo knocked on Jeonghan office, the latter opened door enthusiastically as if he was expected him there.

The finance assistant manager felt defeated, as if he lost both his loved one and best friend at one.

"Woah, Seungcheol-ssi. What are you doing here?" A man with Australian accent spoke while walking to his department.

"Oh, Chan-ssi. I was on my way back to my department but stopped to check on someone."

"Ah, who is it? Have you guys meet yet? Should I call him for you?" Chan acted surprised.

"No, no need. I see him just now. He appeared to be very busy, so I thought I could come other day."

"Alright, I'll be back to work. Have a nice day, Seungcheol-ssi."

"You too, Chan-ssi." Chan watched as Seungcheol walk away toward the elevator.

"That man is way too obvious; his department was not even on this floor." He shook his head disheartened.

Seungcheol proceed to his department but did not stop at his table, instead to his manager's room. Wonwoo startled at the intrusion, catching on him off guard.

"Woah, hyung. What's happen?"

"Wonwoo, drink with me." the assistant plopped on the sofa for guest.

"Suddenly?"

"Yes."

"O-okay, shall I call Jeonghan hyung?"

"Don't." Seungcheol threw him a death glare.

"Alright, just us then." Wonwoo raised his hand, "Wait a second, I'll save my work." His plan to work overtime is disappeared.

Both of them walked out of the manager office to find Mingyu prepared his bag to leave. The others already left since it was past the work time.

"Mingyu, do you want to have a drink with us?"

"I thought you only want to be us two?" the manager whispered.
