Chapter 8: Jealousy

The next day.
Michelle stands outside of the classroom
after potions class. She talks to Fred. He
seems more nervous than usually around
her, and she wonders what's going on. Mattheo is standing with his friends a few meters away. He is teasing his friends while he sees you talking to Fred, and he watches every move. He sees Fred blush as he
looks at her. Mattheo thinks it's weird that he is so nervous around Michelle, but he is sure he has no bad intentions. He notices
how Michelle looks at him and how she touches him. He also thinks how much time they spend together, and at some point, it feels a little annoying. She starts to get a little closer to him, too.
Then suddenly Fred is asking her if she wants to go on a date with him. Mattheo can't believe it.
Fred: "I wonder if you would like to go on a date with me, Michelle?"
Michelle looks at him, surprised and says, "I mean, I could think about it, i guess? I am a bit surprised right now."
Fred accepts this as an answer, and they start talking about other things.

POV Mattheo
My friends and I noticed it. It is hard for
me to keep watching as Michelle and Fred talk to each other. I notice that it seems like
she is not going to say no to him, so I
have a bad feeling about this. I notice that
they start to talk more often, and he
is always with her when she has a free
period. I feel jealous now. Fred seems like
a nice guy, but why him? My eyes watch
them two as they walk together. Why am i so jealous, we are just friends, and that is the
way it is supposed to be..

POV Michelle
I look at Fred, surprised. I don't say yes, but
I also didn't say clearly no. It's confusing
Fred is really nice and caring. He is so
funny. But I look over to Mattheo, and this
is different..

Mattheos' eyes follow her, but it's hard to focus on her and just her. He sees Fred talking to her with a serious expression. It makes him feel bad. He is having all these feelings for her, but it looks like Fred likes her even more. He starts feeling insecure, and he feels like he has to protect myself because Fred is so close to her. He is jealous. He looks over to Fred with an angry expression on his face. He notices that Michelle looks at him, too.
Michelle goes over to Mattheo. "Hey Mattheo, are you going to the Slytherin Party tomorrow?"
"Yes. I will be going to the party.." he keeps
His tone is neutral. He can't stand the fact that
her and Fred will probably be together in
the party, too. He is sure that Michelle is looking forward to it since Fred's gonna be
He smirks at her as he sees how close
she gets to him. Fred can be here watching
us together. It makes him even more
nervous. His heart beats really fast.
Michelle looks at him confused. "I am .. looking forward to the party because it is a party, " she laughs.

He rolls his eyes a little bit because she knows exactly what he meant. "Yeah...it will be so much fun.." he says mockingly but not in a mean way. He can't keep staring at her. It makes him too nervous. He looks over to Fred. He is nervous, too.. 'What does he
want from you, and do you like him back?' Mattheo thinks.

"Mattheo, is everything okay? I mean
i thought we were friends now.." she looks
concerned.
Mattheo looks back at her, and he is still trying to play it cool. "Oh, yes! Of course, we are friends, I guess I am just having my
moments, " he smiles sincerely.
It feels like a weight has been taken off his shoulders.
He looks at her more clearly and notices how beautiful her hair is when the sunlight hits it. He is smiling gently while looking at her.
"Okay, so we see each other there." She smiles at him and turns around, going back to Fred. Then they walk away together.
He watches them walk away.

POV Mattheo:
I see how close you are to him, how you are touching each other. You laugh and seem to enjoy each others company a lot. He even has his arm around your waist. No, this is
not normal, he is into you, and you are so
close..I feel insecure, jealous, angry, and
everything at the same time.
I am falling for you so badly.
It breaks my heart. It's obvious what he wants.I start to lose my calm. It breaks my heart to see you with him. I try to forget about the dance and the black lake where you showed your true vulnerable side. You
are with him while smiling. I see you
laugh, and i see him being around you at
every moment he can. Why didn't i say
anything..

POV Michelle:
I enjoy Freds Company a lot, but at
the same time, I don't think I feel the
connection like I had it with Mattheo at the
Black Lake.
