Chapter 12: The bullies

2 weeks go over without Michelle talking to
Mattheo. She feels awful, and Mattheo was skipping classes the last days.

POV Mattheo:
I have missed your laugh. Your smile. The
way you looked at me when I used to say
something funny.. My heart still hurts. I
am starting to lose hope that we will ever
talk again, so I stopped going to classes.
I feel like I am failing everything, and
I'm not sure what to do now.. I just have too
many thoughts in my mind.

Michelle is sitting in the courtyard as three Ravenclaw students come over, starting making fun of her. She tries to ignore them, but they start pushing her around. "Hey! Stop!" she screams.
Mattheo is standing in the shadows near the courtyard. He hears a scream, and it sounds like Michelle, so he looks over and sees people pushing her around.
'What the hell..?' he thinks.
He looks at the situation and thinks about what to do now.
One student pulls Michelles hair and pushes her to the floor. All three students are
standing over her now, laughing and trying
to push her again. Then Mattheo comes
over and pushes one of them away.
He saw Michelle being pushed over, and the first thing that comes to his mind is that he wants to protect her. He sees her on the ground, and it feels like it is happening all over again. He runs over and pushes the guy away from her with all the strength he has
"Hey! Leave her alone!". He looks right at the student he just pushed away from her. He looks at him and is obviously angry.
He stares right into his eyes
"Who the hell do you think you are? Dare you touch her again!"
They are taking out their wands. Mattheo
too. Mattheo turns to the students and raises his voice: "If you touch her, you are going to regret it, alright?" his tone is serious. He can't stand people acting so rude, and he won't let anyone hurt Michelle. He is ready to stand his ground. "Don't try anything stupid now, you shit heads."
The students look at each other and then
run away. Michelle still lays on the floor, holding her head when Mattheo turns to her.
His gaze immediately shifts from the
students to her as he starts being worried. "Are you okay?" He says softly while he crouchs down next to her and places his right arm around her shoulder to help her get. When she's up, she hugs him
immediately "Thank you, Mattheo," while a few tears roll down her cheek. "I was really
scared."
He is relieved that she is ok and the fact that
she hugged him is something priceless at
the moment.

POV Mattheo:
You are hugging me, and I can feel your warmth, and i feel even more
relieved. The hug is longer than it should
be but I want you to feel safe with me.
I take some steps back and look at you. I
see the tears falling down your cheek and
it hurts to see you sad like that.

Matthep wipes the tears away with his thumb softly. "Are you alright? Are you hurt?" she nods."I think so." She still looks at him with shock and hugs him again."I know we didn't talk the last weeks, but thank you, really."
Mattheo hugs her even tighter, feeling her body close to his. He feels her warmth, her scent, and her touch. He can't help but start having feelings for her again.

POV Michelle:
I keep hugging you while looking at you in
the eyes. I want to tell you that I have been
thinking about you every single day that
we weren't together.
I missed you so much. I wish you could
know how worried i was about you.

"I just couldn't forgive you... I was hurt
because you punshed Fred and I .. don't
know but I want you back as my friend.
Can we be friends again?" she asks calmly.
He looks into her sweet and forgiving eyes, and his heart is racing while he feels butterflies in his stomach. Just one of her looks is enough to steal his heart. He hugs her tighter and kisses her cheek
"Yes, i want you to forgive me, and yes
i want to be friends with you again. I
missed you."
Michelle notices that the Ravenclaw students must have destroyed her dress when they pushed her. It's torn. "Oh no. My dress." she says, looking sad at her
dress "I think I need to change."
Mattheo looks at her torn dress and can't help but have this protective feeling towards her again. "You are right, i think you should change. We can go to my dormitory if you want." His eyes meet hers, and he feels those butterflies in his stomach again.
"It's okay. I will go to my dorms alone. We
will see each other later, okay?" Michelle says with a smile but also a few tears in her eyes. H keeps looking at her and feels sad to see her leaving. 'I wish you would stay with
mе.' He thinks.
He looks at her one last time. "Okay, i guess.
See you later then." His voice is calm
even if he doesn't feel like it. He doesn't push more. Maybe it's too early for a happy
reunion. He watches her walk away, his heart aching to see her go again.
