I pulled up to the school just before time for it to let out. Sitting back into my seat I call someone to go check on Mrs.Jackson tomorrow she answers on the third ring.
"Heya big boy" she teases
"Hey Dimond, I need you to do me a favor"
"Sure what ya need" she ask
"There's an older lady She can't get around much I need you to go by tomorrow and look in on her and kinda clean her house up"
"What's in it for me"
"I don't sell drugs anymore." I tell her "look I'll give you ten grand if you do this for me."
"What's so special about this old lady" she ask
"I'm involved with her daughter that's all you need to know"
"I see, yeah alright I'll do it how long will I have to work"
"I'll call you and let you know when you're free to leave."
"Alright, have you talked to Lydia"
"Not since mom's funeral" I tell her
"I'm worried about her" she says
"Aren't we all, look I have to go. I'll send you coordinates later" I tell her
"Ok, later then little brother"
I grind my teeth "don't call me that ever"
"Whatever bye" she hangs up
I smile as I see Maddie coming out of the school she doesn't look happy though. She slips into the passenger side quietly.
"Hey baby" I say
"Hey" she says
"School not go too will" I ask
"I got shoved into a locker" she says showing me her broken glasses
"Who the fuck done that" I ask
"Christi Lanie" she says pouting
"Oh" I say knowing exactly why Christi was coming for Maddie.
She crossed her arms over her breast "what oh" she ask
"Just I know why she's upset with you"
"You could tell me why" she says
"Christi has always had a huge crush on me. She finds you a threat" I tell her "I'll talk to her"
"What no, then she only thinks you like her. Unless that's what you want her to think" she says
"Fine, you know your the only one"
"Am i" she ask
I lean over for a kiss and she backs away "What else happened" I ask
"Your pal grabbed my tit" she says
"Which one" I say not hiding the anger "Nick" I ask
"No the other one" she says
"Brandon" I ask She doesn't say anything about that time he steps out the building. I get out the car.
"Seth" I hear Maddie call after me as she to gets out
I go start for Brandon never would I have thought he would be the one to do something like that.
"Seth" he says all smiles but my fist makes contact with his face wiping it away "What the fuck man" he says From the ground
"Keep your fucking hands off my girl" I tell him
He smiles again nodding because he knew he deserved it "Ok, alright. You've fucking changed man" he says as he gets up
