He grabs his shirt, pulling over his head. I gasp out as I see the red lashes on his back. They were still fresh, and some even had drops of blood from them. My hand goes over my mouth.

"Who did this to you, Pen?" I ask

"My father," he whispers, but I hear

"I don't understand," I say, shaking my head

He looks back at me, his eyes full of nothing but love. "You wouldn't believe if I told you," he says

"Right now, I will believe anything," I tell him.

He nods, grabbing his jeans, and he pulls them on, I grab my dress, pulling it on, sitting down beside him on the ground. His hand warps around my knees.

"The day we meet, you was in a car accident" he tells me, I shake my head I would have remembered that "I was sent as a guide to lead you through purgatory" he tells me

"Are you saying I'm dead?" I ask, his eyes come to mine.

"I'm sorry, Jasmin." He says

"Who are you?" I ask my whole body shake.

"I am a sin, your sin, Temptation. My name is Tahpenes. I would never lie to you. "

"What about the other three?" I ask

He smiles. "Rue is the guilt that you feel. Her ture name Guilt but she whether be called Rue. Jela is Pain. That's the way you feel so much pain when she's around. Not just physical but emotional as will"

"And Tiras," I ask

"He is Lust it is why he didn't show up until recently,"

"I don't think I can believe all this."

"It's hard to prosses," he tells me

"You said your father did this to you," I say. Touching his back, he flinched but didn't pull away. "Who is your father?"

He looks at me dead in my eyes. "Death, and now that you know he will be coming for you. I'm sorry, I have failed as a guide, " he says with tears rolling down his eyes.

I cup his face, bring his lips to mine. "I think you did a wonderful job," I tell him

He smiles, but it fades. "I can't come with you where you're going," he tells me.

"Why?"

"It's not allowed. There will be family waiting for you," he tells me. "I must stay here to guide others."

"Will you love others?"

"No, I was never meant to fall in love. That is why I am being punished. "

I look down. "I am sorry," I tell him

"I'm not," he says, making look up at him. "I love you. Let us go before we are in any more trouble."

I smile. "I love you," I tell him

Leaning down his lips claim mine. As we walk back to the car, neither one of us says a thing.

"You told her," Tiras says as we get there

"She asked," Pen says

"Now we wait on Father," Rue says

"Why a road?" I ask as we sit there

"Because you were trying to get home," Jela  says

"I will never get to see my family again," I say, tears coming to my eyes

"They will join you one day," Pen tells me

"What about the phone calls?" I ask

"Most of them were dead air. The last when you left, the message was a message beyond the grave," Rue says
