~I'm still trying to figure out why a dumbass like you is immortal~
Some more walking and chatting later they finally arrived at their destination. The kitsune leaned onto the mountain as the traveler went to talk to the first of the adepti. Before they knew it a group of Millelith ran up to them shouting about comprehending the assassin, making the girl let out a chuckle as she grabbed onto her polearm.
"Someone's come to play!" she chirped infusing her weapon with pyro, sending a gust of it towards the enemies, making them fall backwards from the impact. She let out a chuckle, reaching to her belt and unhooking one of her trinkets and throwing it into the fire, making it smoke up even harder. One of her eyes glowed a deep shade of blue as she walked through the smoke, slicing it.
"Come on out." she giggled, sending more gusts of pyro through the smoke as she walked closer to the intruders. She couldn't be seen through the smoke and it made sure they heard her from every direction, not being able to see where she is. One of the soldiers swiped around aimlessly, trying to find her and managed to cut into her shoulder, making her gasp, "What a hazard." she hissed, swinging her polearm over her head and sending a gust of wind at the group this time, making the smoke clear out.
"Now give me your souls." she growled, as a wave of fire engulfed her enemies, bringing them to her as she waited, smirking over at them. They began attacking and she couldn't help but roll her eyes at them as they made cuts and scratches with their weapons, or at least attempted to, until one of the weapons reached her neck.
"That's enough!" she hissed, jumping down, swiping her leg under her enemies, making them fall down while her polearm spun above her, surely inflicting some damage. As she stood back up, grabbing her weapon and looking down on the men she had just defeated, holding her polearm towards them.
"Now scram." she whispered, her eyes twinkling with a sense of bloodlust, making the men quickly gather their things and run off to who knows where. She turned back to the traveler, nodding at them to continue their conversation with the adeptus. She went ahead and sat down by the mountain, taking a deep breath in and focusing on peace. She opened her eyes once again when the traveler approached, calling for her.
Her eyes were back to normal, making Lumine think she was seeing things because she was sure one of them was blue only moments ago. "We have three more adepti to meet, hopefully we will have no more attacks in that time." Paimon spoke up first and the two were quick to agree. "By the way, Lynx, you're an amazing fighter."
"I know, no need to mention it." the kitsune responded, walking ahead of the two. She turned to her shoulder, feeling it sting, to see that she obtained quite a cut there. She sighed, reaching down to her garter pouch to find some bandages, making quick work of wrapping it up while they were still walking to the other two adepti that were on the mountain. As expected, they had no more interruptions on their expedition. Once done with the mountains they had to head down to the Wangshu Inn, to meet the final adeptus. They made it there quicker than expected, climbing up to the top of the inn and looking at the view.
"To the blind, everything may not be as it appears..." a man spoke beside them, making them turn to look at the person who was definitely not there a moment a go. "A sigil of permission? I see you came prepared." he stated looking at Lumine and then at Paimon. The kitsune let them talk for a while before hearing the man tell them to leave immediately, making her turn to look over at them only to find that the man had disappeared. She let the two go talk to the boss of the Inn about the adeptus while she stayed on the balcony. The girl looked up at the roof and saw the adeptus up there, letting out a sigh and jumped up to the roof. The man watched her approach him and eyed her angrily.
