Arc 2: Interlude

Scaramouche had agreed to wait for her return as she headed for the city, hoping to find some of their subordinates so they could grab them a boat to take them back to the continental area. They made a mutual decision of not telling Signora about having the gnosis already, as they both truly disliked the woman and her attitude. The girl moved through the city, looking for anyone she would recognize when a group of men went charging by her. She recognized two, the army general of the resistance and her childhood lover.

"Wait what's going on?" she called out to them, making Kazuha stop in his tracks for a moment to look at her.

"Kazuha, we need to hurry, come on." Gorou turned to call out to him. The white haired man faced his lost lover, his eyes flashing with something she could recognise in an instant. His eyes were telling her to stay behind, not to engage. He saw her expression shift from confusion into one of concern as she reached her hand for him, but he only gave her a nod before using his vision to catch up with the resistance.

The girl stood frozen for a moment, letting out a frustrated groan before running after them. She easily ran over the bridge, not letting the memories distract her from reaching the group. She looked ahead, seeing them standing still, looking up at the traveler who was exiting the ground of Tenshukaku.

But then time froze completely. Within seconds, Raiden Shogun could be seen behind the traveler, a menacing glint in her eyes as her sword was on its way to take Lumine's life. Keahi's breathing hitched, it was stuck in her chest, her eyes and body unmoving. Her previous plan of reaching the group seemed pointless as she was sure the girl that she traveled back to Inazuma with is about to be erased from existence. However, that didn't happen, in a blink of an eye, with a powerful gust of wind, Kazuha was suddenly on top of the stairs. He was countering the Shogun's attack with his own sword, finally managing to push her back, sending himself flying backwards. The girl's eyes widened in horor, watching the troops charge for the Shogun, but instead Lumine took over and was soon sucked into nothingness before her eyes.

Her bright pink gaze searched the area, getting fixed on a familiar face that was crouched close to the ground. She finally released the breath she had been holding, calling out his name with it as she ran over. "Kazuha!" her voice rang through the crowd of soldiers who surounded him, his head immediately perking up to look for its source. "Kazu!" she called once more, pushing through the men in an attempt to get to him. She almost reached him when a person stopped her, a cold glare fixated on her form.

"What are you trying to do, Harbinger?" Gorou growled, readying his bow to shoot at her. "If you're trying to hurt more of our people, you better leave right now."

"Bitch, it wasn't me hurting your fucking people." the kitsune hissed, her ears pressed to her head as she halted her movements. "Yes, I was involved with the mission but I wasn't the one handing the delusions out, nor did I approve of them being handed out. Now let me through, I need to talk to him."

"You're not getting anywhere close to him, you're a threat to us all." Gorou's voice was low, threatening as he took a step back, taking aim for her head. His hand pulled the arrow back when a voice came from behind him.

"She's not going to hurt me, Gorou. I've known her my whole life." the voice was calm, completely opposite of Gorou's or Keahi's. "Let her through."

Gorou reluctantly stepped aside, letting the girl reach her broken promise, dropping onto her knees in front of him. Her arms wrapped around him in an instant, holding him tight as if he's going to shatter the moment she let go. In reality, she was the one shattering. She felt his arms hug her back just as tight as she placed her chin on his shoulder.
