~Who even thinks stabbing you at this angle would do anything?~

Many would think that bringing a Harbinger to live with you is an idiotic thing to do, but Heizou couldn't agree. A few days of living together, even though a couple of his home appliances had been taken apart, the girl was quite easy to live with. She could cook, she'd spend a lot of her time drafting her future gadgets, the traveler would visit every so often to check up on her and she even cleaned the desk and put his papers in neat piles, one for solved and one for unsolved by the date they were issued. She did have her downsides, like constant sarcasm, complaints about being practically imprisoned in the detectives home, singing horribly while taking showers and an open hatred towards doing the dishes. Those were only some of them. He was genuinely surprised by the fact he hadn't been killed in his sleep by her yet.

"Hey Keahi!" he chirped, entering the house after being called out to apprehend a thief they've been struggling with. The girl looked up at him, a glint in her eyes telling him she was ready to throw a nasty comment his way. However, that look was soon taken over by one of confusion.

"Your blood or did you bathe in someone else's?" she questioned, her pink eyes observing his bloodstained clothes.

"Well, mine and theirs I guess?" he responded, getting an eyeroll from the kitsune, who sat back in her chair, only raising her hand to wave him over. "Why do you want me to come closer?"

"Cause I can't take in how well it brings out your eyes from this far, idiot." she retorted, now standing up and walking over to him. "Where are you bleeding from?" she asked and the man let out a chuckle at the smaller girl. She shot him a glare, making him let out a sigh as he turned his back to her and then also pointed to his leg. His back had a dagger stuck in it, right bellow his shoulder, but it didn't go quite deep, probably not fired from a bow. His leg, however, had a deep cut right on his calf. "You fucking walked home with a knife in your back?"

"Y-yea. Didn't think it was an issue." he stuttered, obviously shocked at the girl's concern. She pointed her finger at the couch, signaling for him to sit down. As he approached the couch she went to grab the first aid kit from the bathroom. He sat down, careful not to lean on his back, not to move the sharp object further in. The girl soon returned and sat on the side of the sofa. "I don't usually get into combat w-"

"Oh shut it, will you? Please?" she hissed, quickly pulling the arrowhead from his back as she spoke. The man let out a wince, jumping slightly from the pain, but a hand on his shoulder kept him steady as she worked on disinfecting his wounds. "Who even thinks stabbing you at this angle would do anything? Were you trying to kill someone? That would be a reasonable explanation."

"No, Ac- no, actually I... I was apprehending a criminal." he stumbled over his words, in shock of the amount of emotion the girl was showing. "You know, if I didn't know any better, I'd actually think you care about me." he teased, earning a glare from the kitsune as she raised his arm to wrap a bandage around his shoulder.

"I'm showing basic human decency, detective, don't get ahead of yourself." she growled, finishing up one bandage and moving on to the one on his leg. She grabbed his leg and placed it over her own as she worked around the wound, quite gently which also took the man by surprise.

"You are a gentle soul deep inside, aren't you?" he chuckled, making her tighten the bandage slightly harder to make him wince. He looked at her face to see her smirking, obviously satisfied by her own actions. "That was uncalled for."

The girl let out a chuckle, releasing her grip slightly and resuming her gentle actions. "So was you imprisoning me in here." she responded, simply. The bandages were in their place and she leaned back on the couch, not bothering to move his leg from hers.
