It was well past midnight when Jungkook sat in his room, engrossed in his video game, his eyes focused on the screen. He wasn’t feeling sleepy, too caught up in the game. But then, his phone buzzed, catching his attention. He looked at the missed calls—nine in total— all from Tae.

Kook: "Wait, when did he call me? Where was I?" He pulled his headphones down and checked the screen carefully, his heart starting to race.

Kook: "Ahh! Half an hour ago. Let me call back. What if he’s in trouble?" He quickly dialed Tae’s number, but it rang on without an answer.

Kook: "Great. Now he won’t even pick up." He called again, then again, frustration mounting until Tae finally answered the phone.

Meanwhile, in Paris, Tae was at the hotel, pacing around his room. He had been trying to convince his bodyguard, Ken, to let him out.

Tae: "Ken hyung, let me go out! Please!" His voice was full of pleading as he stood in front of the bodyguard, arms crossed, looking at him expectantly.

Ken: "I’m really sorry, sir, but Jimin sir gave strict orders that you’re not allowed to leave the hotel at night unless it’s urgent. I can’t let you go out."

Tae’s patience was wearing thin. He had been cooped up for hours and wanted some fresh air. He turned to Ken, a scowl on his face.

Tae: "You work for him or me?" He asked, annoyance dripping from his voice.

Ken: "Sorry, sir, but... he’s scarier." Ken muttered, barely audible.

Tae: "Excuse me? What do you mean Jimin is scarier than me? No one is as scary as I am at home!" Tae said, putting his hands on his hips and puffing his chest out in an attempt to look intimidating. It didn’t work.

Minnie, his stylist and best friend, who had been watching the exchange from the doorway, burst into laughter. She couldn’t help herself.

Tae: "Yah! Don’t ruin the moment. We were having a serious discussion!" Tae complained, his face flushed with embarrassment.

Minnie, still chuckling, tried to stifle her laughter but failed miserably. Tae stomped over to her, striking the same pose as before, hands on his waist, glaring at her in mock seriousness.

Tae: "You know laughing at your friend is bad?"

Minnie, still giggling, wiped tears from her eyes. "Sorry, but I just heard you’re the scariest person in your house, and I couldn’t hold it in. Tae, you? Scary? That’s the best joke I’ve heard all year!"

Tae: "You’re a big meanie, you know!" He flopped down beside her on the bed, pouting.

Minnie: "Whatever!" She rolled her eyes dramatically. "But seriously, you’re not scary, Tae. You look like a kid asking for candy. You're the most scared person in your family!"

Tae: "That was personal!" Tae groaned, falling back onto the bed in frustration. "And now you’ve ruined our last chance to sneak out. If I’m not going out, you’re not going anywhere either!"

Minnie, undeterred, smirked. "Oh no, Ken, please! We’ll be fine. Beak will be with us, and who’s going to tell Jimin oppa?" She tried to convince the bodyguard.

Ken, however, remained firm, shaking his head. "I’m sorry, but if something happens, I’ll be dead. I’m too young for that."

Tae, still frustrated, glared at Ken. "I’ll fire you when I get back, you idiot."

Ken, looking both defeated and amused, turned to leave. "Goodnight, sir."

Tae, now even more determined, snatched his jacket from the chair and put it on.

Tae: "I’m bored. Let’s go out anyway." He said, as though defying all logic.

Beak, his bodyguard and the only one who would follow Tae’s commands without hesitation, gave him a serious look.

Beak: "Are you planning to get yourself killed?" he asked, his tone deadly serious.

Tae, not caring about the consequences, shot him a look. "Shut up and follow me." He said, already heading for the door.

The two of them snuck out of the hotel, careful not to be seen. At least, Ken didn’t catch them leaving. Tae had gotten what he wanted—freedom, even if only for a little while.
