A Few Days Later

Jimin had an important meeting today—one he couldn’t ignore. It had been months since he actively participated in running his company. Most of the responsibilities had fallen on Namjoon and Yoongi, as Jimin refused to leave Tae’s side for too long. The fear of Tae waking up one day and forgetting him completely kept him tethered to the house.

But today was different. A high-profile meeting with a foreign company required his presence as CEO. No excuses. No avoiding it.

Even as he adjusted his suit in the mirror, he kept glancing back at Tae, who was sitting cross-legged on the bed, wrapped in layers of fluffy blankets, eyes glued to the Netflix drama playing on the screen.

Jimin sighed, crouching beside him.

Jimin:  "I’ll be back soon, okay? Just two hours or so," he said, though it felt like he was trying to convince himself more than Tae.

Tae barely spared him a glance, lazily lifting a thumbs-up in response.

Jimin huffed.

Jimin:"I mean it, Tae. No mischief. Don’t try to cook anything—I left snacks for you on the table. And under no circumstances should you leave the house."

Tae nodded absentmindedly, still focused on the screen.

Jimin narrowed his eyes, placing a hand on his hip.

Jimin: "Are you even listening to me?"

Tae finally turned his head slightly, blinking up at Jimin with an innocent expression.

Tae:"Hmm? Yeah, yeah. No fire, no explosions, no running away. Got it hyung"

Jimin groaned, rubbing his temples.

Jimin: "Why does it feel like you’re going to do the exact opposite?"

Tae grinned : "No idea, hyung. But you better get going, or your business empire might collapse without you."

Jimin sighed dramatically but ruffled Tae’s hair before grabbing his coat.

Jimin: "I’ll be back soon. Be good."

Tae just hummed in response as Jimin hesitantly stepped out, the feeling of unease settling deep in his chest.

Tae let out a dramatic sigh as the front door clicked shut behind Jimin. The house felt eerily quiet without his hyung’s constant hovering, lecturing, and watchful eyes. It was both freeing and unsettling at the same time. He wasn’t used to being alone—not without Jimin close by.

With a small whine, he grabbed a handful of chips from the snack pile Jimin had left for him and tried to focus on the drama playing on the screen. But as the minutes dragged on, his attention wavered. The show, which had seemed entertaining earlier, now felt dull and uninteresting.
