16: Helmet
Vera Alette's Pov
"Vera Alette Manzan, malulunod na ang mga halaman ko!"
"Ha...? Ah... Ah!" napahiyaw ako nang bigla akong kurutin ni kuya sa tagiliran sabay agaw sa hose na hawak ko, I stared at his drowning plants and bit my lower lip, punong-puno ba naman ang mga paso ng tubig.
I looked at my brother who was looking at me sharply, I gave him a peace sign and hugged him around his shoulders.
"Sorry na, do you want me to sip the water...?" I mumbled and peeked at his face with a sweet smile.
"Che, kanina ka pa nakatunganga jan eh, parang ewan lang," pambabash niya sa akin, I pouted my lips and nuzzled on his shoulder, rubbing my cheek on his arm.
"Ano? Wala ka na bang pera kaya ka naglalambing?" pamimintang niya sa akin. I gasped and looked at him, kapal naman ng mukha niya para sabihan ako 'non.
"For your information, I just received my salary for this month," I rolled my eyes and let go of him. Rinig ko naman ang halakhak niya, I told him that I'll take a bath and help them cook our lunch, pumayag naman siya kaya pumasok na kaagad ako.
Pagkapasok ko ay naabutan ko si ate Marie na nagwawalis.
"Uhm Alette... Gusto mo bang sumama mamaya? Susunduin lang naman natin si Aria," she asked, her sweet smile plastered on her face.
"Sure ate, now na po ba?"
"Mamaya pa naman saglit para makapaglaro pa siya kaunti doon."
"Sige 'te, I'll just take a bath."
"Sige," She replied.
I ran up the stairs to grab my towel and clothes. After taking a bath and dolling up, bumaba na rin ako saka kami umalis ni ate Marie after makapagpaalam kay kuya.
"How's life in Tagaytay?" Ate Marie asked without throwing me a glance, a small smile appeared on my face.
"Life's great there ate, I've been doing good at work, met new people, and new projects kept on coming, kayo ba dito ate?"
"Mabuti rin naman, tumataas ang bilihin kaya medyo mahirap, minsan gipit, but we still manage to survive, hindi rin naman sobra yung kagipitan, and thanks to Peter's diskartes," She winked at me and turned her eyes back on the road, napahalakhak naman ako. Kuya is really good at making things possible when it seems like it's not, magaling siyang dumiskarte, that's one of the things I like about him.
"Ate, can I ask you a question? I already asked kuya but I also need answers from other people, including you."
