Past and Present

This is possibly the only chapter with a Lando POV; I'm not really sure, we'll see in the coming chapters if I would need to tell the story again using his POV

Lando's POV

Addison and I were already making our way to the McLaren hospitality when I received a call from Schuyler, "we're about to enter the hospitality, Sky." I answered knowing she just made a call about 5 minutes ago.

"And could you please stop calling already, Addie's settled in with me. We're just waiting for Pato and Jon." I added as we go up to my driver's room. I rolled my eyes as soon as I hear Schuyler giving me a run down of the do's and don'ts for her child, remind me again why I volunteered to take Addison again, ugh. Her mum's a force to be reckon with when she was single but as soon as Addison came into picture, double it up and add that she's mothering everyone and it irks me sometimes.

"Please hang up already, Sky. One more word from you about what to do and not to do with Addie -- I swear i'll bring her to the scarlet red dudes myself." I told her over the phone as I put Addie's belongings on top of the table and help her get settled in "Oh stop it, I know you love me." She answers over the phone, I snorted.

"I do. But not to the extent of listening to you nag for the 5th time." I answered her then ended the call before she starts yapping about everything again.

And it's the truth.

I grew up with Schuyler; we went to the same boarding school in the UK. I got interested in karting, she always comes with me to the track and that's how we met Max. We were eventually called the chaotic trio in the karting tracks. I even taught her how to kart so she doesn't feel left out when Max and I started training to become professional kart racers; good thing Toto and Susie wasn't against about it. Except maybe the fact when I decided to be home schooled instead to focus in karting, they didn't want that for Schuyler. So I usually come with Toto to fetch Schuyler at school. Schuyler's family has been so supportive of Max and I especially when we started joining competitions. That's why it wasn't a surprise for us three when Schuyler's dad was named as the new Team Principal and CEO for Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team.

Soon enough, I realized that this silly crush I've been harboring for her ever since boarding school wasn't just a silly crush; I realized I love her more than best friends and yet, I never tried to risk it and tell her about it. 

Max saw right through me when I almost didn't sign for the McLaren F1 Team; I was even going to ask if they could delay it for at least a year. All of that for the reason that Schuyler decided to take a 5-year surgical residency in the US and I wanted to come with her since we knew that it was because she got pregnant with Addison; and she didn't want Charles to know about it.

I remembered being called a chicken by Max for not confessing to Schuyler about my feelings all this time. I just can't risk the friendship I have with her over my romantic feelings towards her. Besides she already made it clear that Max and I are like brothers to her and it's pretty obvious that she's head over heels for Charles, even the five years she spent hiding from him.
