TIME JUMP: Minnesota 2019

I'm already seven months pregnant and I'm telling you, everyday is just getting worse especially during my hospital duties. My chief resident already placed me on scut duties until I give birth on September which means no assisting in ORs for the mean time. I'm stuck in scut and minor surgical treatments in the Emergency Room.

Thankfully, I managed to gain a friend here at the Clinic. Madeleine Bouchard. A feisty intern who dreams to be a world renowned cardio thoracic surgeon like me. She's half French but thankfully she grew up in the US because I didn't want anyone to know who I am. Because if that happens, Charles might find out where I am.

"Hey Schuyler, someone's waiting for you at the lobby." Madeleine suddenly said as she enters our locker room and I was already changing from my scrubs to my normal clothes.

I huffed in exhaustion and glanced at her, "did you even ask who it was?"

She shrugs as she takes a seat beside me then stared at me, "I don't know, he was talking to the medical receptionist; asking for you. But looks like he's your baby daddy." She teased.

I shot her a look obviously surprised by what she just said, did Charles found where I was? Shit.

"What does he look like?" I asked as I close my locker and fix my scarf.

Madeleine removes her scrub shirt before answering, "I don't know, human-ish I guess? He's wearing snapback cap and sunglasses so I'm not sure about his eyes, a little tan, oh and I noticed his neck. Damn, his neck is thick as hell."

I laughed a little by how Madeleine described the person.

But tan?

That's not Charles.

I bid good bye to Madeleine and head to the lobby to meet the mystery person. Once I reached the hospital lobby I immediately noticed him since he definitely stands out.

He's wearing a blue hoodie with a bomber jacket, black skinny pants, and his favorite dunk lows. And like as Madeleine described him, sunglasses and a snapback that he's wearing backwards.

He doesn't notice me yet since he's busy with his phone so I sneakily walked up to him and muttered, "someone looking for Schuyler Wolff?"

A huge smile is plastered on my face because I missed him so bad. He finally looked away from his phone to look at me, he immediately smiled and throws his arm around me to give me a tight hug.

I snuggled to his chest as I hug him back, "easy with the hug, got a baby here!" I laughed as he cautiously break me away from the hug.

"What are you doing here Lando?" I asked. The smile on my face never fading.

I missed my best friend so bad.

"F1's officially in summer break and I thought of spending it with you here." Lando answers me.

I tilted my head and blinked, "has it been that long since I moved here?"

Wow, never realized that it's been that long since I've been away from home, from everyone, and from Charles even. As soon as I got here in Minnesota, I've been so focused with my intern year and just getting everything sorted out for me and for my baby; I immediately disclosed to my chief of surgery and supervisor that I am pregnant that's why they lightened my case load. Then since they lightened my case load and i'll be having a 60 day maternity leave, I would finishing my residency a little later than my whole batch.
