Deanna's POV Man.....I just can't believe it. I'm about to spend the rest of my life behind bars, that's all because I was trying to defend myself and save my own life from an animalistic piece of shit. I mean, I just don't understand it. It's like when Shawn was alive, he abuse me, and now, even in death, he still abusing me. I just don't know what to do or how to even feel like this point. My one saving grace is that my attorney, Leonard is going to appeal and try to get my conviction overturned.

"Girl, what's wrong? What happened in court?" Trinity asked, worry evident on her face.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes in an attempt to keep my composure before answering...
"I-I got found guilty." I say sadly.
"Oh wow. Girl, I'm so sorry." Trinity said.
"Yeah girl dats fucked up. Did they give you your time yet?" Jessica asked.
"Yup." I replied.
Trinity and Jessica stared at me, waiting for me to respond.
"Ok....so.....how much time did you get? I mean you killed that nigga in self defense, so what 5, maybe 10 years?" Jessica asked.
"No.... I-I got natural life." I say quietly.
"What?! Are you fucking serious?" Trinity exclaimed.
"Get the fuck outta here! That's some bullshit yo!" Jessica yelled.
"Yup. I'm gone." I say.
"Never mind that motherfucker was beating your ass, bringing you STDs and damn near killed you. You gotta spend life in prison for protecting yourself. Bullshit I say!" Trinity said.
"So is yo' lawyer gonna appeal?" Jessica asked.
" Yeah....he said not to worry and that they are working on it, the minute they issued the verdict." I say.
