Midnight.

Ashton, Michael, and I got back to the house by midnight - we spent the whole damn day at the studio. Sure, we went out for lunch, then went right back to the studio. I would've escaped... if Michael hadn't had his arm wrapped around my shoulders.

"Don't do that," I had scolded him, attempting to remove his arms from my body. "Your fans might see and think you have a girlfriend, you damn fool."

"This area is secluded, paparazzi aren't allowed in this territory," Michael had smirked. "So we're all good."

Anyway, Calum and Luke were already asleep when we got back. I hoped they weren't worried - oh what the hell, they probably didn't give a shit, happy to have the house to themselves.

I tried to keep quiet so I wouldn't wake them up - tiptoeing up the stairs - but then I remembered that this house is the size of a luxury hotel and their bedrooms are probably on the other side of the house. Also, I didn't care if I woke them up.

Before I could open the door to my room, someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around to see Michael, him smiling shyly at me.

I raised my eyebrow. "Yes?"

He held something in his hand, but I couldn't tell what it was. That is, until he grabbed my own hand and placed the mysterious item in it. I took a glance at it and slightly gasped. It was my cell phone.

"How did you - why did you..." I was lost for words.

"You were sad because you couldn't communicate with your family, and goddammit Mia, seeing you sad fucking broke my heart," he sighed. "So I convinced the Fanshits or whatever the fuck they're called to give you your phone back."

"Fangirls," I corrected. "And... wow, Michael, thank you."

"Everything is basically deleted on there except for your contacts," he explained. "So... give your family a call so you won't be sad anymore, yeah?"

I honestly wanted to cry right now. This was the nicest thing someone has done for me.

"Oh my God, thank you," I repeated. "Thank you so much, Michael."

I leaned over and gave him a hug. He squeezed my waist and chuckled, and I could feel the vibrations of his laughter as I was tightly pressed against his chest.

"Goodnight, Mia," he whispers. "Have a nice chat with your parents."

He pulls apart and slips into his room beside mine. I bite my lip, trying to hold back a smile but I couldn't help it. I was probably blushing as well, damn.

I entered my room, and although I had expected to pass out already from exhaustion, I didn't. I was too excited to call everyone I knew back in America, starting with my parents. They're probably awake right now, due to time differences between the states and Australia.

I decided to call my mom, since she'd probably talk to me for a bit then hand her phone to my father.

She answered on the second ring. "Hello? Mia?"

"Hey, mom," I said, smiling like crazy. "How are you?"

"I'm well, and I assume you are as well," she replies. "You're in Australia at the moment, am I correct? The Fangirls have explained everything as soon as you were arrested and sent away."

"I'm sorry, mom," I couldn't help but apologize. "You must have been worried sick about me, you and dad."

"Not necessarily, Mia," she says and I frown. "We are incredibly disappointed in you."
