My phone rang -well, buzzed since it was on vibrate - early in the morning; it was still dark outside and Michael who laid next to me was still sleeping. I looked at the Caller I.D. and realized that it was Savannah.
I quickly tiptoed out of the room and into the bathroom farthest away from Michael and I's shared room. I answered at sat down on the toilet seat.
"Hello?" I spoke groggily, sleep still tracing my brain.
"Mia, you were a success!" Savannah held proudness in her cheerful voice. "Your protest convinced the people of England to turn down America's offer - they voted not to follow the Fangirl's laws and government."
"Really?" my eyes widened and I sighed in relief. "My speech went through to them?"
"Yup. It's even all over the news worldwide," she said, then sighed. "The bad part is that people are trying to figure out your identity."
My relief disappeared quickly. "If they figure out my identity, Christine will know it was me... and she'll find me... and..."
"Don't worry, Mia," Savannah says. "I'll make everyone's curiosity disappear."
"How?" I asked.
"I'll just tweet out that I know who you are and give a fake name," she says.
"Alright," I replied, seeing as there was no other choice.
The bathroom door opens and my heart stops, in fear that it was Michael. Relief washed over me when discovering that it was only Ashton.
"Is this one of those meetings with Savannah?" he asked, closing and locking the door behind him.
"Yeah," I answered.
"Mia?" Savannah says in confusion and I realize that I was still on the phone with her. "Who are you talking to?"
I bite my lip and eye Ashton. "Um, Sav, what if I told you someone else found out our plan?"
"What?!" Annoyance was in her tone now. "Did one of those boys you're staying with overheard us?"
"Yes," I told her. "But it's okay because he wants in our plan - he wants to help us and he swears that he won't tell anyone."
"Oh yeah? I want to hear that from him," she huffs, aggravated.
I put my phone on speaker mode and look at Ashton. "Talk to her," I told him.
"Uh, hey Savannah," he says nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "I'm sorry if I seem like I'm bothering you or if I'm intruding but I really wanna help you guys and protect the world... I swear I won't tell anyone."
"You know about everything that's going on?" she asked, and I could tell that she was reluctant about the whole thing.
"Yes," Ashton replies. "I know that the Fangirls are planning a revolution and basically a killing spree... and I want to stop them. I have people to protect."
"Well, since you already know too much, I guess I have no other choice but to recruit you to our team," Savannah says hesitantly, and I could also tell that she was forcing a smile. "Welcome to our team - our very small team - Ashton."
"Thanks," he grinned.
"Okay guys, I have to go right now," she says. "Talk to you tomorrow?"
"Yeah," Ashton and I say at the same time.
She hangs up and Ashton and I stare at each other for a moment.
"So you said you had people to protect," I stated and he nodded. "What people?"
