A loud bang against the door woke us up. My eyes fluttered open, my sight slightly disoriented. Michael's arms were around me and he appeared to be awake as well.
"Did you hear that?" I whispered.
"Yeah," he answers, right before we heard the loud bang again. "What the hell is that?"
My heart sunk in my chest. "Maybe the realized they've put you in my cell and they're coming to move you..."
Michael sighs, bringing his hands up to both sides of my face. Leaning our foreheads together, he says softly, "I refuse to let them take me away from you."
I smiled but it didn't last long because the door swung open, startling us both. However, the person who opened the door - or obliterated the door, rather - wasn't who we expected to be.
It was Melody.
We stand, staring wide eyed at her, wondering how the hell the managed to free us and destroy the door like that.
"What are you guys waiting for?" she chuckled. "Come on out."
Michael and I glanced at each other, puzzled, before taking a few steps closer to her.
"We thought you were dead," Michael says to her bluntly.
Melody smirked at him. "Do I look dead to you?"
"Were you captured yesterday?" I questioned. "In all of that chaos?"
"Nope," she says. "I broke into the weaponry, sounding off the alarm thus saving the girl from the execution whilst distracting all of the Fangirls and guards. It was a diversion, and the signal."
"Oh," I said, suddenly feeling kind of stupid.
"We're losing precious time," Melody says, glancing at her wrist which didn't contain a watch. "We have to join the others."
She motions for us to follow her, thousands of questions still trapped in my brain. "Where are the others?"
We suddenly stop at the sound of voices. "Shh," Melody whispers to us, pulling us behind a wall.
"I don't care how long it takes for you to find them!" I hear Savannah scream, probably at some guards. "Find them, and kill them!"
"Come on," Melody spoke, running towards the end of the hallway where there was nothing but a window.
"If you think I'm jumping out of that thing, you're sadly mistaken," Michael says stubbornly, crossing his arms.
"It's the only way out of this place," Melody rolls her eyes at him. "Plus, we're on the first floor. It's not like we're going to die."
I gulped at the word die and suddenly felt uncomfortable. "I don't know..." I say hesitantly.
Melody groans. "If we stay here, we'll die. Just follow me!"
She opens the window and leaps out, landing safely on the ground on her two feet. I decide to go right after, seeing as there's no actual harm. Thankfully, Michael joins us as well.
We were outside, where there was literally no one. The place was deserted, seeing as it was still nighttime.
"I thought you said we were joining the others," I said to Melody.
"We are," she says. "C'mon."
She walks slowly, her eyes trained on the ground as if she was looking for something. Suddenly, we stop at a circular shaped trap door of some sort.
