So uh, yeah, I unpublished #10 - Alive (the sequel to this), and I haven't touched the third one, #20 - Finale. I've noticed that Splatoon fics are kinda dead now and I'm lost motivation to make any more in this series, so let me just at least tell you how I would continue this...
#10 - Alive
Dedf1sh's soul flies far, far away, back to Earth from outer space, where it heals until she can be revived. Eventually she wakes up on a sketchy-looking Respawn platform, fully healed but a total amnesiac, not able to remember where she's from or who she is, not even her DJ name or her experiences in Kamabo.
The rest of the story would follow a what-if situation where Mimika, the mimic octopus OC from that one chapter in this fic where they rescue an Octoling from the Fuzzy Octarians, replaced Agent Eight in Side Order. She wouldn't have Pearl's help, either, and only her skills as an escaped Octarian soldier who fought tooth and nail to escape and'll do it again.
I started planning this long before the second Side Order trailer was ever revealed, and I'm writing this before it's out so a lot probably doesn't make sense in this AU if you're reading this when it is out. Back to the loredump...
So yeah, Ahato chooses the name Acht since it seems like a significant number (with Acht meaning eight and all) and I also think they would start going by they/them pronouns though that's not as talked about, and they'll go beat Side Order with Mimika and all that.
#20 - Finale
Follows an alternate universe! In this one, Tartar took over Octavio's land after Agent Eight failed to save Inkopolis Plaza. Also, here Octo Expansion took place before Agent Four managed to save Callie, who is now caught by Tartar. The sentient telephone Sanitizes her and she's locked in Kamabo Co.
Also in the Deepsea Metro is an Inktoling named Claire Byers. She's never seen the surface, and only heard of it from Callie, who's barely ever clear-headed. Claire fears being Sanitized, being controlled like this, and decides to take a risk and save Callie. However, the Inkling insists she save Dedf1sh instead, and they both go to the surface.
When they get there, though, all they find is a war-torn world full of fuzz and zombies, covered in ooze and ink.
They meet the NSS, who never learned about the Crater or Alterna with all the chaos and didn't even know about Mr. Grizz's Fuzzy Ooze. Half of Earth and all the major cities are covered in some kind of corrupted substance, which doesn't leave a lot of safe places for them. They're glad to have someone who knew Callie with them, though, and they start a journey to save Callie and the world!
(There would also be some Side Order stuff idk) (Like I said, it's not out yet when I'm writing this)
