The marauders (Regulus instead of Peter) love in different ways. Some are more obvious than others, but they love each other nonetheless.
Short
Remus loved hesitantly. Remus loved with caution. He often overthought everything, but he couldn't, not, love his friends. He was so careful about who he let himself love, but at the end, it didn't really matter what he wanted. If his brain wanted to love them, he loved them. He didn't have a good day in it, but it's never ended badly. His brain wasn't stupid after all.
Remus showed his love occasionally. He showed it with small action. He would give them some of his chocolate, or he'd give them one of his books to read. It was never obviously, but it meant a lot to Remus. Remus showed his love with small gestures.
Sirius loved wholeheartedly. He loved completely. He loved his friends with everything he had. He wasn't very careful with his heart, but that just showed who he was. He trusted more easily than people expected, but it was hard to hold it. Sirius loved with all he had, and he was not scared to do so.
Sirius showed his love with obvious gestures. He ruffles their hair, or he gives them expensive gift, he knows they will like. Sirius never hides his love. He's always showing it somehow. Sirius shows his love openly.
James loved fiercely. He loved strongly. Much like Sirius, James loved with his whole heart. He wasn't very protective over his heart either, but he knew how to protect his heart. He was always protective over the people he loved as well.
James showed his love protectively. He would never let anyone hurt the people he loved. He would throw himself into anything for his friends. He would throw a punch for his loved ones. James protected the people he loved.
Regulus loved quietly. He loved silently, from a far. He never learned how to show his love. He also didn't know how to tell when his love was reciprocated. He loved people through glass.
He couldn't show his love. He tries distancing himself, unsure of what will happen once the person learns of his love. He didn't know how to show his love, but it could be seen. It could be seen in the way he always kept things given to him, or in the way he looked at people. It could be seen in the little actions he did, trying to help. Regulus' love needs to be search for.
They love very differently, but they love each other so much. They all know that, even if some don't believe it sometimes. It can always be seen.
