Regulus finally says something to Walburga when he finds Sirius bleeding and unconscious. He ends up running with Sirius in his arms.

Regulus could not name one situation in which he talked back to their mother. He couldn't name a single one. He could name multiple in which Sirius talked back however. Many which Sirius stood up for Regulus when he didn't say anything to their mother. That's what was so surprising about that night. Regulus was doing the talking, for the first time.

Regulus had been listening to his brother and Mother yell at each other for what felt like hours. He wanted to ignore it, but the small fear that Sirius will get hurt lingered. When he heard a thud then silence, he rushed down the stairs. He ran down the stairs terrified of what he could find.

He was met with Sirius sporting a pained expression, and a pool of blood beginning to form under him. "Mother!" Regulus screamed without thinking. Regulus took out his wand instantly. He meant to start patching Sirius up, but Walburga had a different idea.

"Don't you dare help that filthy blood-traitor! Have I taught you nothing?" Walburga yelled. Regulus raised a shield charm just as Walburga swung her arm.

"You've taught me plenty! Just not what you wanted to!" Regulus yelled back. He found that Sirius was unconscious, and he had a slash over his stomach.

"What's that supposed to mean, Regulus?" Walburga's tone became challenging, the way she got with Sirius.

"It means that you've taught me how not to act, and what not to do! Couldn't have raised me better, Walburga, actually, you know, harming my bother is a great way to teach me why I want to be just like you!" He finally turned towards Walburga, and she looked furious. Regulus stood his ground though. He cut her off before she could reply. "Yeah, the best way to make someone a spitting imagine of you is to try and completely terrify them. Wouldn't have worked even if I was afraid of you, Walburga!"

"Don't even start with this nonesense! You're my son if you like it or not, and I will not let you talk to me like this!" Regulus tried not to laugh.

"Oh, now I'm your son? Seemed like Sirius was the only one for a while, you know, I'm just the spare, right? Walburga, that's why you had me, was it not? A spare incase Sirius messed up?" Regulus put up another shield charm as Walburga swung her arm again. "I would say he's messed up many times, wouldn't you? I mean, he's bleeding out behind me. Only now am I actually your son, right? Too bad, I think I'd rather not if this is what happens to your 'children'." Regulus quickly shot a stunning spell at his mother, surprising her. He instantly grabbed Sirius. He struggled to get him up, but once he did, he ran out of the house. He ran as long as he could as his brother laid limp in his arms.

He stopped upon finding a bench. He laid Sirius down, putting Sirius' head in his lap. He ran his hand through his brother's hair as he rested his legs. Where could they go now? He didn't plan this far ahead. Actually, he hasn't planned to leave at all; it just kind of happened. He knew he couldn't go to any of his friends' houses, but he didn't know where any of Sirius' friends even lived. He thought about any connections Sirius' friends could have. He eventually realized he knew where Severus lived, and he met Lily around his neighborhood. As long as Regulus was sneaky, he should be able to find Lily's house without alerting Severus of anything.

He apperated to a street near Severus', and he began looking for a house like Severus had described. He walked deep into the night. He listened closely for any change in his brothers breathing. He hoped Lily knew where James lived as she would not be able to do any magic, being muggle-born. Eventually, he approached a house that looked exactly as Severus described. They even had specific vehicles that Severus had told him about. He moved Sirius in his arms before knocking on the door. He was shocked when a incredibly thin version of Lily opened the door. "Hello, why are you knocking on the door at one o'clock in the morning?" The lady had a very snobbish tone in her voice. Regulus silently wished that he didn't sound like that.
