I had to admit, the Lan Pack territory wasn't all that bad. The scenery was nice and peaceful, the air was refreshing and crisp being so high up in the mountains. I could tell that one would need to dress a bit warmer here though. I was still being led around by Lan Xichen. I didn't necessarily like being around him but it was only because he was an alpha. Then again, Baoshan basically invited me to attend guest lectures here, so I was to see him more. I knew what Baoshan was up to. She figured out my wolf was being pulled in so she had to make an opportunity happen.

"You seem determined to never like any alpha at all," Xichen said to me.

"I'm sure you would have a lack of trust in other alphas if you dealt with a fraction of what I did," I told him, "the amount of alphas I have fought off just to keep me from getting...forced upon, is a lot. Too many to count with just my hands."

"I am sorry," he said.

I sighed, "don't worry about it...I'm sure my mother is waiting for me. Can you take me to the Jingshi or wherever she wants us to meet?"

"Let's go," Xichen said.

"Hey, since I answered your questions, what about your wolf? I know your scent but what about your wolf?" I asked.

"He is silver and his name is Shuoyue."

I couldn't believe the name had me smiling, "it means new moon?" I asked.

"It does," he said, "why?"

"My name is Xingyue, it means the moon and the stars," I pointed out.

He smiled, "well it seems we have something in common," he said, "I want you to learn to trust me. If you truly are coming for guest lectures, I want you to at least be comfortable with me so you have someone to talk to if you need someone. Unless you were to get along with your nephew."

"I will keep that in mind," I said, "just give me time."

"I can at least respect that," Xichen said.

Lan Xichen and I soon arrived at the building called The Jingshi, "is this someone's residence?" I asked.

"This is actually where my brother and his mate live. Wei Wuxian is your nephew who is my brother's mate," Xichen explained, "Baoshan said to meet her here."

"Do you think she is inside?" I asked.

"We won't know until we find out," Xichen said. Lan Xichen then went up to the door and knocked. He soon entered with me right behind him. Baoshan was here of course, but so was Lan Qiren. There were also two other men and three infants.

"Xingyue," Baoshan said and motioned me over. I moved to stand beside her, "A'Ying this is Xingyue I told you about."

"Hi, it's nice to meet you," Wuxian greeted.

"Nice to meet you too," I said, "these little ones yours?"

"They are, Lan Yuan, Lan Renyu, and Lan Syaoran," Wuxian told me, "this here is my mate Lan Wangji. I call him Lan Zhan."

I looked at him. He was definitely another alpha but since he was claimed by his true mate, I didn't have to worry about him too much, "hello," I greeted. He just nodded his head in acknowledgment.

I looked at Baoshan, "he is usually this quiet," she said and had me sit down with her at the table, "I told them about you coming for guest lectures. Although these two will probably be here most of the time on leave, they are still here for you if you need them. Same for Lan Qiren."

"Did you tell them about my trust issues?" I asked.

"I did, and they said they will help you overcome them while you are here as the Lan Pack is full of alphas," Baoshan explained.

I sighed. Wei Wuxian looked at me, "Wait, Lan Zhan and I are not informed, what is it with her and the alphas?"

"I do not trust alphas," I told him, "especially when you lived around the Jin pack for several years."

"You were taken in by Baoshan, right?" Wuxian asked.

"I was, the village that was born in is prejudiced against omegas. It's just alphas and betas. Any omega that is manifested, is either abandoned, killed, or given to a Jin disciple as they pass through one a week. The village is just outside Lanling," I explained, "I gained my second gender earlier than usual, I was only ten. My parents took me to Yiling and left me there."

"Has anyone ever done something about that village?" Wangji asked, "discrimination against any second gender is illegal."

"No, since Lanling is their bordering city, the Jin disciples take the omegas straight to Pack Leader Jin. He decides which ones he keeps for his pleasure and then which ones go to the brothels," I explained.

"Jin Guangshan?" Wuxian asked, "the rumors of him having a fascination over omegas?"

"All true," I said.

"Can't someone do something about that? Can an alpha have that many omegas?" Wuxian asked.

"It sounds wrong but it can happen, yes," Xichen said.

"Exactly why I don't trust alphas. Can take who they want and they don't care about love at all," I said.

"Not true," Wuxian said, "Lan Zhan is an alpha and he loves me deeply. Not all alphas are like the ones you have seen."

"Sure," I said, "I just don't trust them."

"You will come to trust an alpha eventually," Baoshan said, "even if it's just one and that one happens to be your mate. Every alpha and omega have a true mate out there, it is just a matter of time before they can meet."

I just rolled my eyes, "unless I am proven otherwise, my opinion stands."

"Didn't you say you would try to trust me?" Xichen asked. I looked at him and my inner wolf wanted to melt. I internally growled as I was trying to control her. I didn't answer him as I was not sure how I felt about Xichen right now. Part of me is coming around but the other part of me is telling me to steer clear.
