Okay I admit, being Xichen's mate had its perks. He was actually very kind and sweet. Since I have been with him long enough, I had let my defenses down around him. He lets me be myself and he lets me be vulnerable. I don't have to keep up with my tough omega act all the time. It was definitely nice that he was willing to be there and protect me, love me, and cherish me. The more he did that, the more I loved him back in return.

Today was a day that I have longed waited for. It should have been done sooner but due to some issues, it only took until now to let it happen. As I was now Xichen's Luna, I was able to make calls. Many were surprised to hear that I wanted to be the one to kill Meng Yao. Normally others assume Omegas to be docile and will allow the alpha to do the gruesome work. I'm not like most omegas though.

There was a lot of people circled around the training grounds. It was a large space which was big enough to hold a fight. There was a barrier around the grounds to keep Meng Yao from trying to escape but I do not think he will. I heard that he was pissed off and was eager to kill me after his plan failed. You know, the plan to use a heat induced drug to try and get me with a different alpha to keep me away from Xichen? That plan obviously failed because Baoshan was nearby and helped me out. She got me to a safe location and got Xichen to me. So I think it was interesting that he thought this would work in his favor.

Meng Yao was not a wolf but a lion and tiger hybrid. A Liger if you will. Both lions and tigers are cunning and play dirty in battles as it is, so now that I have someone who is a mix of the two, it will be interesting to see this boy fight me. A couple disciples had dragged Meng Yao out and removed his chains before leaving him in the center of the training grounds. I stood off to the side momentarily by Xichen.

"I am here if things get out of hand," Xichen said.

"Do you, lack faith in your mate?" I asked.

"No, if you can take down an alpha, I'm sure this is not going to be a problem for you," Xichen said and placed a kiss on my forehead, "for good luck."

I giggled and gripped the front of his robes when I caught Meng Yao looking our way. I then pulled him down and kissed him hard. I soon could smell cinnamon fill the area. I could tell that Meng Yao was furious, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I bit down on Xichen's bottom lip before pulling away.

"That is how you can wish me luck from now on," I told him.

"Yes ma'am," he said. He then turned to Meng Yao and said loudly, "Today is the day Meng Yao will be sentenced to death. Though with a twist. It's a trial by combat situation. Obviously, the only way is death. I have faith in Xingyue though."

I smiled and entered the grounds, "I bet you have long wanted to see me die by your hands right?" I asked.

"You have no idea," he said angrily.

"Do you think if you kill me he will still allow you to live?" I asked.

"I do not care at this point, if we both die so be it. If I die by him it will be honored," he said, "because he will be the one to do it."

"Oh, and here is where we will disappoint you. I will be the one to kill you," I said and moved aside the collar to my robes, "see this, he is now mine and I am now his. You have lost."

Meng Yao growled and his eyes started to turn a piercing shade of ember. He was close to shifting, "such a slut," he said.

"Oh, am I?" I asked, "I have to thank you for this though. Without that idiot who put a drug in my food, I wouldn't have been mated to him yet...and I have to say, he is incredible in bed."

That seemed to have been his trigger and he phased. I giggled and shifted to Fengmi. I could already hear people at the sidelines laughing and commenting on how small my wolf was for an omega. Fengmi and I didn't let that bother us though. Those who mocked and laughed only drove us to be stronger and prove those people wrong.

Meng Yao lunged forward towards me and I dodged. I heard some gasps and then others saying I may be small but I was very fast and agile and quick on my feet. Fengmi let out a huff and growled at those who mocked her. It caused them to stop talking immediately and a chill running through their spines.

Meng Yao kept making advances and I kept dodging. Some were curious as to what I was trying to achieve by doing this. I then heard Wei Wuxian make a comment to Wangji and Xichen, "I see what she's doing. She is quite clever," he said, "yes she can fight but she is riling up Meng Yao to get him to make advances. Doing so will eventually tire him. Xingyue just has to wait for the right moment to make her move."

This is why I like Wuxian. He understood what I was doing. I could feel the bond between me and Xichen and I could feel him being smug right now. I also noticed that Fengmi was trying to impress her alpha. We are the same but my human brain was trying to get her to cool it. I could tell that with her trying to impress him, it will only rile him up and make him pounce on me later tonight. I have no objections but damn, let me concentrate.

Though I was going well at avoiding Meng Yao, I did accidentally let him get a little too close and he swiped his claws at me. His claws left three scratches on my right arm that went from my elbow to my shoulder. Fengmi growled and she finally snapped. She ran at Meng Yao with full force and plowed into him, sending him flying back into a tree not far behind him. Part of the tree had a limb sticking out and it happened to puncture his left side just under his ribcage.

While Meng Yao was dazed by the sudden blow, Fengmi took the opportunity pounce on him, grab the scruff of his neck and yanked hard. With a quick move, Meng Yao's neck snapped and with the full force of that yank, Fengmi pulled a chunk of Meng Yao's neck off him. Let's just say, Meng Yao was dead at this point. Even though he was dead, Fengmi still felt angry and gripped his throat with her teeth and yanked, tearing it open.

"Fengmi," I heard Xichen call for me. His pheromones started to fill my senses, "hey, he's gone. You don't need to worry anymore."

I turned to him and walked over to him. I sat down in front of him and leaned against him. I whined as I was a bit agitated and overwhelmed. I felt him lift me, "you did good, A'Yue," he said in a soft voice next to my ear, "let me get you back to the Hanshi and clean you up. I will have someone take care of this corpse."

All I could do was whine and then relax against him. When he took me to the Hanshi, he grabbed a bowl of warm water and started to clean the blood off my face and then tend to my wounded arm, "can you shift back so I can get a better look at your arm?" He asked.

I did as he asked and shifted back to being human, "sorry if I overdid it," I said, "I guess a lot of my rage just came out in the end."

"You did good, A'Yue. I'm proud of you," he said, "I would have liked it if you could have left the fight wound free though."

I looked at my arm, "well, it can match my other arm. It is still healing from its scars."

"You are something else, you know that," he told me.

"Mnn, I'm sure you figured out that Fengmi was trying to impress you?" I asked.

"Yes, I understood her intentions," Xichen said with a smile, "I will reward you later, I want your arm to heal a bit first."

I giggled, "I knew you were going to be turned on by it...such a horny alpha."

"Says the omega who constantly makes me feel like this," he said, "you know just the right way to stir me up."

"Because it's fun," I said, "the sex does turn out wild when I do that."

"If you want wild sex all the time, then I will give you wild sex, I have no objections," he said.

I laughed. After he tended to my arm, I watched him put everything away and then return to my side. I was a bit tired after the fight so I just curled up beside him and took a nap.
