~*Lan Xichen's POV*~

I couldn't believe it honestly. I don't think she would really do something like this. As someone who has issues of her own, why would she complicate things and try to harm someone else or another family? I sighed and walked through Cloud Recesses to clear my head. As I was walking, I could smell cinnamon. It was not really a scent I cared for. I could tell the pheromones we're trying to attract an alpha. They were strong and I could tell it was a heat sort of strong in terms of scent.

"Zewu Jun," a man said behind me.

I turned and Meng Yao was leaning against the door to his guest room, "Meng Gongzi, if you are in heat, please refrain from being provocative. You can go to the infirmary and our healers will help you."

"I'd prefer an alpha over a healer," he said.

"I am sorry, but I am not interested," I told him, "I am sure you are very kind but I do not have the mating pull towards you so you are not for me."

"Such a shame," Meng Yao said, "I got rid of that other bitch for no reason then."

"I beg your pardon?" I asked. I wanted to be sure I heard him correctly.

"Oh nothing, it's just that I heard that another omega that is in the dungeon has a mating pull towards you and you basically told her to take a hike," he said happily, "How wonderful that even you didn't feel pulled when she did. Must suck. Also, I heard what she did to your niece and nephews. How awful."

I didn't know Xingyue had a mating pull towards me...she said she didn't but others kept telling me she did. I had the pull towards her but I kept it to myself because she denied me so many times.

But, was it true?

Did she really not do it?

Did she really have the mating pull? If she did, I just made the biggest mistake I could ever make. She is never going to trust me if it's true. That or, it will take a long time to ever gain her trust again.

Just then, I was grabbed and pushed into the guest room Meng Yao was in. He even locked the door. He let out his pheromones full force. He was definitely in heat, "You do realize I am trained in this situation to ignore you?" I pointed out. He ignored me and started to touch himself. I rolled my eyes and leaned against the wall of the room, "Very well, if you want supervision I can supervise."

He stripped and laid on the bed. He moaned and fingered himself. He was even going as far as saying my name. I shook my head. While he was preoccupied, I unlocked the door and slipped out of the room. I then locked him in and ordered a couple disciples to watch over him and when he was over his heat, to take him to the dungeons.

I then went home and took a shower. I felt disgusted for what I had to endure. I then realized something. My mind went back to Meng Yao for a moment and I noticed scratches on his arms. They were consistent with those that were on my niece and nephews, and even Xingyue had some scratches just like it on her. She looked so confused too.

If Meng Yao did something to her, how did she sleep through it?

I had the healers double check the blood samples they took from Xingyue. After a couple days the healers came to me and said they found traces of a sleeping serum in Xingyue's blood...so in other words, Xingyue was set up. Meng Yao even said he got rid of a problem that was in his way...I am so stupid. Xingyue had little to no trust in alphas at all, now she will not trust them at all after this stunt.

I sent a letter to Baoshan to tell her that we found the culprit of who really hurt the three pups. I told her that I would apologize in person to Xingyue. When Baoshan wrote back, she told me that Xingyue wants nothing to do with me. I wrote back asking if I could visit to try and work out some things. I would be in her territory so it should help her feel more relaxed. Baoshan agreed to let me come visit.

Wuxian and Wangji also wanted to come with the three pups. It was so that they could also see her and talk to her. They wanted to let her know that they were sorry that she went through this mess within the Lan Pack territory. If Xingyue was to actually be my true mate, she was going to one day be part of the Lan Pack. I wanted her to get comfortable with us and have a fresh start without having anyone else disturbing her stay.

"Xiongzhang, is there something about Xingyue that we should know?" Wangji asked.

"She and I have the mating pull and she kept denying me because of her distrust in alphas. After what happened, I don't know if she will ever trust me again," I said.

"Xiongzhang, our children were involved and she was also targeted," Wangji said, "She will come around eventually."

"Do you remember how A'Xian was? He didn't trust many people either but you stuck by his side. I did the opposite to who my mate is and I shouldn't have," I argued.

Wangji nodded, "Then work hard to get her trust. Prove to her that not all alphas are bad. An Omega hurt her this time so now she has little trust in everyone. You need to prove to her that she is important to you."

"I understand," I said.
