Yang POV
Making my way back to the dorm I see the rest of my teammates each doing their own thing. Ruby then looks at me.
Ruby: "I thought you were gonna work on bumblebee."
Yang: "Changed my mind."
Ruby: "Are you okay?"
I cock an eyebrow.
Yang: "Why would you be asking me that?"
Ruby: "Because you've been kinda off ever since the night at the docks. So what's wrong?"
I sigh taking a seat on my bed.
Yang: "When I was fighting that guy in the suit, something felt off."
Weiss: "Define off."
Yang: "When I looked into his eyes, I didn't see anything. Like he was nothing but an empty husk. Then there was the feeling he was giving off."
Blake: "What was the feeling?"
Yang: "Evil."
Ruby: "Evil?"
Yang: "Yeah. It was practically flowing off of him like a river."
Weiss: "I didn't sense anything."
Ruby: "Me neither."
Blake: "Nope. Kinda weird you're the only one who sensed it. Maybe it was because you were the one fighting him."
Yang: "Maybe. But whatever was with that man wasn't natural."
Ruby: "So what're you thinking?"
I stand up.
Yang: "I got a guy in Vale. Kinda specializes in stuff like this. I'm gonna go talk to him, see if he knows anything."
Ruby: "Not by yourself."
I turn around to see my teammates joining me.
Yang: "You're coming along?"
Weiss: "I'm just curious."
Blake: "I'm into the unknown."
Ruby: "Can't let you guys have all the fun."
I smile.
Yang: "Then let's get going."
Getting ready we all head into Vale to speak with my guy.
Y/N POV
I finishing tightening the final bolt wiping the sweat off.
Y/N: "That should do it. Now the carburetor should be able to take more abuse."
I start cleaning up. But shutting the tool drawer a chill runs down my spine. Slightly exhaling frost is revealed. Looking over my shoulder I narrow my eyes. Walking out of the garage I see it dark out. To add to my suspicion all the lights around keep flickering.
Y/N: "I know someone's out there. Show yourself."
The wind picks up. Following its path I see it going into the forest. Throwing on my jacket I walk into the forest. The deeper I go the more darkness seems to take over. Whispering then fills the air.
???: "Y/N."
I come to a stop. Looking I try to peer through the near pitch dark. A hand is then placed on my shoulder.
???: "I've been waiting for you."
I look seeing a little green hand.
Y/N: "Isn't it past your bedtime?"
They float in front of me, revealing themselves.
Y/N: "Invidia. Shouldn't you be stalking someone?"
She narrows her eyes.
Invidia: "I've grown tired of these maggots."
She now smiles floating closer to me.
Invidia: "But you. I've always had my eyes on you."
She reaches for my cheek.
Invidia: "I want you Y/N~"
I grab her wrist.
Y/N: "Why're you here?"
She shows annoyance.
Invidia: "I could be asking you that. Last I heard you were drowning in booze."
Y/N: "I've changed."
She develops an amused smile.
Invidia: "That's bullshit and you know it. No one changes. We remain the same. Till the bitter end."
I tighten my grip. Her wrist cracks making her yelp in pain.
Y/N: "Answer the question. Why're you here?"
Invidia: "Time's are changing. Plans are changing."
Y/N: "What plans?"
Invidia: "Our goal."
I once more tighten my grip. She now wails in agony.
Y/N: "What goal?"
Invidia: "I cannot say."
Y/N: "Then you're of no use to me."
I reel my hand back.
Invidia: "Wait!! I cannot say because I do not know. I'm the only out of the loop. But I know someone who isn't."
Y/N: "Who?"
Invidia: "Sleeping Dragon."
Y/N: "How's a thrift store gonna help me?"
Invidia: "It's only a cover up. A front. Head to the back room and you'll see the owner. He'll tell you anything you wanna know."
Y/N: "You better not be lying."
Invidia: "I swear on my life I'm not."
Y/N: "What life?"
I send my hand through her chest, withdrawing her heart.
Invidia: *weakly* "Why?"
Y/N: "One thing I learned in this life. Never leave anything to chance when it comes to demons."
I crush her heart. She screams as she bursts into ashes. Flinging her blood off I head back to the garage. Hopping onto my bike I take off to where Invidia said to go.
