Y/N POV

I sigh accepting defeat.

Y/N: "Okay, let's talk."

Yang: "Who exactly are you?"

Y/N: "A man."

Yang: "What is it you do for a living?"

Y/N: "Stuff."

Yang: "Where'd you come from?"

Y/N: "My place."

Yang: "Why're you here?"

Y/N: "To do whatever I want."

Yang: "Why're you being so secretive?"

Y/N: "Because."

Yang: "Because why?"

Y/N: "Reasons."

She sighs.

Yang: "Fine. Keep your secrets."

She begins walking out of my room. But she stops, looking over her shoulder.

Yang: "The Beacon dance is tonight. I want you to go."

I tilt my head.

Y/N: "Why?"

Yang: "Because it'll do you some good to socialize instead of being so isolated."

Y/N: "And if I don't go?"

Yang: "I'll break your knees and take you there myself."

Y/N: "Fine. I'll be there."

She looks forward and walks out of my room.

*that night*

I groan trying not to get angry.

Y/N: "The video made this look so easy."

Finishing the knot the tie holds. I smirk.

Y/N: "Got it."

It unravels before falling onto the ground. I groan in anger burning the tie.

Y/N: "Stupid tie."

I unbutton the first two buttons on my shirt and nod.

Y/N: "Just as good."

I exit my room and make my way to the dance. Upon entering I see my worst nightmare.

Y/N: "Social interaction."

I shake in disgust.

Y/N: "I ain't drunk enough to handle this."

I turn around to leave. But that's when I see Yang and who I assume is the rest of her team, each dressed up for the dance.

Yang: "And just where do you think you're going?"

Y/N: "To get drunk."

Yang: "I don't think so."

She grabs the back of my shirt and full on drags me into the dance. While Yang and her team are distracted I try to slink away. But a slow song begins playing. Then for some reason I'm pulled into a dance with Yang.

Y/N: "Can you let me have just one moment to myself?"

Yang: "No."

She leads us off. It's then I can't but admire her skill.

Y/N: "Gotta say. Never pegged you as the dancing type."

Yang: "I'm just full of surprises."

I smile.

Y/N: "Earlier you asked who I am and I gave an ass answer. My name's Y/N. Y/N L/N."

Yang: "As stated when we first met, I'm Yang."

Y/N: "You not got a last name?"

Yang: "I do."

Y/N: "What is it?"

Yang: "Xiao Long."

Y/N: "Why don't you use it?"

She remains silent for a moment. She then speaks again.

Yang: "You ever feel like you don't really belong?"

Y/N: "A few times. Why?"

Yang: "That's how my last name makes me feel."

Y/N: "Explain."

Yang: "Xiao Long is my father's last name. But for some reason I just don't see him as my father."

Y/N: "Why?"

Yang: "We're just too different. Where he's laid back and calm, I'm riled up and agitated. He detests fighting while I have no qualms in indulging in it. Like I said, we're just too different. I'm started to doubt we're actually related."

Y/N: "Have you tried talking to anyone about this?"

Yang: "My mom. But she just shuts me down, swearing he is my father. I fear she's hiding something. I wanna ask her the truth. But I fear if I do and I'm wrong, it'll drive a bigger wedge between us. I just don't know what to do anymore."

Y/N: "If I may."

She looks at me.

Y/N: "Call her. Set up a meeting and tell her how you feel. The only way you can fix this is by tackling it head on."

We stop dancing.

Y/N: "You can't always run away from your problems. They follow you to the bitter end. So take my advice and seek the truth."

She takes in my words smiling. She then nods.

Yang: "I will."

She then hugs me.

Yang: "Thank you Y/N. You're not so bad after all."

I smile returning her hug.
