The Real Father

Yang POV

I tap my foot staring at my mom. She merely looks into her drink. It's been nearly an hour and she hasn't said a single word.

Yang: "So how do you feel?"

She only stares into her drink. I grab her hand. She slightly looks at me.

Yang: "You can tell me."

She looks down. After a few seconds she finally speaks.

Raven: "His name's Y/N L/N. And he's your actual father."

Yang: "What even happened?"

Raven: "It was going great. Till one day I got really sick. I faintly remember it. I was really happy when I just blacked out. When I came to I instantly got better. But then..."

She grips her glass tightly. Tears brew.

Raven: "He died."

Yang: "But how? I mean we both saw him."

Raven: "I know. I'm still trying to comprehend it. For eighteen years I believed him to be dead. Yet there he stood right in front of me, alive and breathing. I just wish I knew what happened."

I look down. An idea then hits me. I scramble for my scroll.

Raven: "What're you doing?"

I quickly tap on my scroll. After a final tap a dot appears on my map. I then show it to mom.

Raven: "Is that..."

Yang: "Dad."

I stand up. 

Raven: "Where're you going?"

Yang: "To find out the truth. You coming?"

Raven: "I want to. But you saw the look on his face when he saw me. It was pain. Like he couldn't stand the sight of me. What if me being there only causes him more pain?"

Yang: "That won't be the case."

Raven: "How do you know?"

Yang: "I have faith."

She smiles standing up. 

Raven: "Then let's go."

*timeskip*

Hopping off bumblebee we arrive in the middle of the woods. Looking forward we're met with a small shack.

Raven: "I recognize this place."

I look at her.

Raven: "This is where he lived before he met me."

She smiles.

Raven: "You really should've seen him when I first came over. I showed up and he was completely out of breath. He said he went jogging but I knew better. Right when we were eating all the stuff he tried to hide fell out of his closet."

I smirk. But I lose it as our attention falls back to our objective. Walking up to the front door we freeze.

Yang: "You ready?"

Raven: "Yes."

I knock on the door as mom hides behind me. After a few seconds the door opens revealing Y/N.

Y/N POV

I open the door.

Y/N: "What do you want?"

She simply steps to the side. That's when I see her. Instantly my heart begins hurting. 

Y/N: "You shouldn't be here."

I go to shut the door. But Raven wraps her arms around me. She looks up at me with tears brewing in her eyes. Looking into them I see every emotion she's been carrying. Shaking my head I wrap me arms around her. She tightens her grip, burying her face in my shirt. Her tears then stain my shirt.

Y/N: *choked up* "I'm sorry."

She only cries with her shoulders now shaking.
