Y/N POV
The morning after the dance I/m woken up by my scroll ringing.
Y/N: "What?"
Ozpin: "Is this a bad time?"
Y/N: "Considering I was having the best dream, yeah."
Ozpin: "Apologies. But I got word from my back up."
I sit up.
Y/N: "And?"
Ozpin: "There's rumors of a rather strange individual on the very edge of Vale. Some say he's like he crawled straight outta hell."
Y/N: "Send the address. I'll go pay him a visit."
Ozpin: "Will do. Happy hunting."
Throwing on my clothes I head to the garage. Fetching my bike I ride out when I come across Yang.
Yang: "Hey Y/N."
I pull to a stop.
Y/N: "Hey."
Yang: "Where you off to?"
Y/N: "Going to take care of some business. What about you?"
Yang: "I'm doing what you said. Gonna seek the truth."
I smile.
Y/N: "Hope everything works out for you."
Yang: "Thanks. And good luck with whatever it is your business is."
Nodding I ride out to the location.
Yang POV
Hopping into a cab I'm driven to the other end of Beacon. Getting out I take a seat at a little cafe. Within a few minutes my guest arrives.
Raven: "Sorry for making you wait. Had some errands to run."
Yang: "It's alright."
She takes a seat across from me.
Raven: "So how've you been?"
Yang: "Good. You?"
Raven: "Little lonely. Luckily the others come by often."
Yang: "That's good."
Raven: "How's beacon treating you?"
Yang: "Fine. I'm on an all girl's team. Ruby's our leader."
Mom smiles.
Raven: "Her mom's gonna have a field day."
Yang: "She sure is."
There's several seconds of silence.
Raven: "What's wrong sweetie?"
I sigh.
Yang: "I wanna know something."
Raven: "What do you wanna know?"
Yang: "Is Tai really my father?"
Raven: "Of course he is. Why would you not think he is?"
I pause trying to think on how to word this.
Yang: "It just never made any sense. We're complete polar opposites. He's peaceful while I'm always ready to rumble. He's nice while I'm not so much."
Raven: "Then you just didn't inherit his calm demeanor."
Yang: "Then where'd it come from?"
Raven: "Probably your aunt Summer. It might not look like it, but she's got a mean streak."
Yang: "Maybe."
I think of another angle to take.
Yang: "Did you ever marry Tai?"
Raven: "No."
Yang: "Why?"
Raven: "Because we didn't need some piece of metal to show our love."
Yang: "Then why do you keep a wedding ring in the top drawer of your nightstand?"
Raven: "How do you know about that?"
Yang: "One day when Ruby and I were playing find the gold I found it."
I look her right in her eyes.
Yang: "Who were you married to before Tai? What aren't you telling me?"
Raven: "I... I..."
I place my hand on hers.
Yang: "Please just tell me the truth mom. I wanna know."
Mom shows deep contemplation. After nearly a minute she sighs, giving in.
Raven: "Okay. The truth is-"
Out of nowhere the ground rumbles. People then run by us screaming in fear.
Raven: "What's up with them?"
Yang: "I don't know. But odds are it isn't anything good."
We bolt towards the action. When we arrive we see a huge cloud of dust. When it clears we see a massive crater.
Raven: "What the heck made that?"
Rustling is heard. Mom and I both get into a fighting stance. A hand springs out grabbing the edge of the crater. Another one soon joins it pulling a body out. That's when my eyes widen.
