Wriotheseley's POV

 I. Am. Tired.

I couldn't go back to sleep after all that.

Neuvillette couldn't either but he was as well as always. Incredibly high recovery rate, he explained.

Putting aside not being able to sleep, the walk to my office was atrocious!

 Archons!

The rumors that have spread in a single night!

Neuvillette had quite a few questions about the things he heard, things that were said, were supposed to be said, outside our hearing range.

 Damn draconic senses!

I don't want to start my morning by explaining sexual terms to Neuvillette!

 Ugh...

 Someone please save me!

 And on top of that...

I had a whole pile of paperwork!

 Come on!

And it's actually the budget reports!

Those are just the same thing on repeat every month!

 They are boring and tedious!

Nothing ever changes in them! Nothing will change this time either!

I simply can't remember over 1000 different mora amounts from the top of my head, as such, I always have to search up all of them!

"Hmm? You start with the budget reports this soon? You only need to send them in a week." Neuvillette asked, looking over my shoulder.

 When-

 When did he get here?!

Last time I looked he was still on the couch!

"You have been sighing over these for so long and didn't even hear when I called out to you. I thought I would check what has you so somber." He explained.

 Really?

I really must have been out of it.

"I start with them this soon because I have to look up each and every individual amount one by one. It takes a lot of time and I can't bear doing it in one go, so I just start early."

 Confusion filled his whole face.

"Isn't it always the same except for the last page?"

 "It is."

 What about it?

 "Still the same this month?"

 "Right... Why are you- Neuv?"

My eyes flickered between his face and the stack of empty reports that he had snatched from my desk.

 "I'll do it."

"You'll do it? Why on Teyvat would you voluntarily subject yourself to that hell of a job?" I asked in absolute shock.

"It will only take me an hour, two at most. I've been approving Meropide's budget reports for years. Over time, it's only natural that I've come to memorize the amounts since they never changed since you too charge. Quite an impressive feat that is, Wrio. Some even suspected that you just couldn't bother filling it out properly and sent down investigators."

"Yeah. I remember those. An annoying bunch. I-"

 Wait.
