Chapter 1: Who Is That Hot Guy?

I opened up my eyes, and all I could see was the curtain on the window flowing back and forth from the windy atmosphere outside. I turned my head to my side to see what time it was. It was 7:30am. Today was the big day for me. Meaning, it was the first day of school for me, and it was May 12th. Yeah, I know that I'll only be in school for about a month, but I really didn't have a choice. I got up, went to my closet, opened it and took out short shorts that were patterned with black and white stripes, and a red crop top that says, "So Sassy" on it. I got my black Converse sneakers on as well as my outfit and then sat down at my vanity with all my makeup on it. I looked into the mirror and all I could see was a girl named Scarlet Rose who was starting her life over. This Scarlet Rose has long, blonde wavy-like hair, dashingly bright brown eyes, and a slim body which other people would call "perfect". I thought I was the complete opposite of perfect. I put my makeup on, grabbed a jean jacket, and headed downstairs for breakfast and was ready to head to school with my three best friends Bonnie Bennett, Elena Gilbert and Caroline Forbes. The 4 of us live in Caroline's house. I think it's so nice that Mrs. Forbes is letting us live with her. I mean, she has enough room for the 4 of us. We all live in one huge room with our beds facing each other, and we each have our own vanity with our stuff in it. We all shared a closet, and that means sometimes I wouldn't be able to find my favorite shirts because either Caroline or Elena would steal them from me, but mostly Caroline.

Caroline is always very worried about things, and sometimes it's really hard for her to cope and forget about things. Meaning, whenever she is with a guy, and they break up, it takes so long for her to understand that it's life and you have to learn to accept that society isn't perfect. Caroline looks like me, and quite a few people mix us up. She has medium-length blonde hair, and blue eyes, and she is just like me basically, but our personalities are completely different. I've know Caroline since we've been in the playpen together. Caroline was like the sister I never had.

Now, when you talk about Bonnie, she also resembles Elena a little bit. Bonnie always knows that there is someone to help and she always is caring of her besties, and she's the kind of person who will always be there for you and help you with anything. Bonnie has long dark chocolate brown hair, and she has a dark skin color. Bonnie is quite the unique human being and she is such a good friend.

Elena Gilbert. I have gone through so much with her, that I could sit here for hours just talking about all the things we have been through. Elena has dark brown hair and brown eyes, and she is so caring of me and she always helps me when I'm in trouble or in need of anything. If I had a dime for every time Elena was there to help me for something, I'd literally be a billionaire!

You may be crossing a question in your mind saying: what about your parents? Yeah, what about my parents? Let's put it this way; they disappeared a long time ago. I've had a babysitter take care of me, and it was my brother Patrick. He's 18 now, and I'm 16. He's so overly protective of me. But I finally convinced him that I can move in with Caroline and that I am responsible enough for it. Every night he always calls me asking me how I'm doing, and I wish he would just lose his phone so he could stop calling me. Patrick has light brown hair, he's very tall, and people would say that he's incredibly hot, but I would totally disagree with them immediately! He's so annoying and weird and also disgusting!

Anyways, when I got downstairs, Bonnie, Elena and Caroline were sitting at the table waiting for me and breakfast was already on the table. These were my girls, and I couldn't even imagine what would happen if we were ever separated. We'd all probably die without each other. "Morning guys!" I said excitedly as I walked into the room and sat down next to Caroline. I looked down at the food on my plate, and it was scrambled eggs, and potatoes what we're in the shape of smiley faces.

"I made it for your first day of school, Scar!" Caroline said excited.

"I got the eggs out!" Elena said, while we all laughed.

"Scar, your gonna love it at school!" Bonnie said smiling. I feel so safe around my 3 best friends, and we are all inseparable. We all ate, and we walked to school. When we reached Mystic Falls High School, all I could say about it was that it was huge! We all walked inside, and the whole place felt like it just expanded hugely.

"I'm gonna go get my books from my locker." Caroline said, "Elena, wanna come?"

"Yeah!" She replied. They both walked off into the hallway, and I was left with Bonnie.

Before I get into any of my experiences at Mystic Falls High School, I'd like to share how I've just started to go to school here. I was taking free online courses as my "education", if you want to call it that. So, I've never really been to a school, and Patrick would also homeschool me, and he is also starting school today too before he goes off to college in the fall.

Bonnie told me to follow her in the hallway, and I held her hand as we walked through the hallway since there were so many people in the hallway as we were getting squished. As we reached what seemed like the main office, I saw Patrick, and I instantly groaned. He saw me instantly and came up to me and said, "Hey Scar. You ok? How are you?"

"I'm fine, and yeah I'm great actually. I'm excited to start school today." I replied back to him.

"Oh that's good. Well, I'll call you later I guess. I have to go to my drama class. Bye sis." Patrick said as he tapped me on the shoulder and walked out of the office.

"That's your brother?" Bonnie asked as she stared at him walking down the hallway.

"Yeah, why?" I replied.

"He's hot. Sorry if that sounded weird but he is hot." She replied.

"Ew." I said.

"Sorry." She said regretting what she just said.

"It's all good. Let's go." I replied. We went to the lady sitting at the desk in the main office.

"Hey Bonnie. Who's your new friend here?" She asked curious.

"My name is Scarlet Rose Iona. My brother is Patrick Iona. Rose is my middle name." I said politely.

"Well hello Scarlet! I'm Mrs. Kip. Welcome to Mystic Falls High School!" She replied. She then printed out a piece of paper, put my name on it, and handed it to me and said, "That's your schedule for the remainder of the year. Bonnie is in every single one of your classes except for French because your transcript says you know fluent French so...you are in AP French 6 Honors, so just follow her everywhere for every other class except French. We both walked out of the office thanking her, and I looked at the schedule. My first class was: U.S. History in Room A22. When we got to the history room, we walked in and sat down. Bonnie and I started talking about girl stuff, and then a really hot guy walked in with a shirt and dress pants with black dress shoes. He had black hair, green eyes, and he was really fit. Bonnie stared at him like she knew who he was, but who is this guy?
