Elijah's P.O.V

I knocked on her front door at exactly 6:00. I felt like an idiot showing up right on the dot. The door opened, and there she stood. She was wearing a beautiful mid-thigh burgundy dress that had a gold sparkly belt that fit her perfectly. She was wearing gold heels and her beautiful blonde hair was curled. Her makeup matched the outfit and her French tip nails and toenails were painted beautifully.

Scarlet's P.O.V

Elijah had his hair combed back, and he was wearing a black suit, and he had a white handkerchief in his jacket pocket. His dress shoes were so sophisticated, and he had a gold ring on that matched my shoes perfectly. "Hello, Scarlet. You look ravishing darling." He said reaching out for my hand. I took his hand, and we headed out to his car. It was his black Subaru. I sat down in the passenger seat, and he started up the car. He drove off and when I looked back at the house, I saw the girls waving back at me from inside the window. We were silent the whole ride, but I realized that his hands were shaking as he drove. He was nervous? He never seemed like he was nervous ever, as a matter of fact. We soon pulled up to a restaurant called, "Le Baton Rouge"; French cuisine. I loved French cuisine, and French people. I even know how to speak fluent French. Elijah was about to find out.

We walked in, and The hostess said, "Hello. Do you have a reservation or are you a walk-in?" She asked, paying attention to only Lijah.

"Reservations. 2 for Elijah." He said.

"Oh, yes. Your name is right here. Please follow me." She said eye-balling Lijah. I got pissed with this lady easily and I held onto Lijah's arm tightly. He gazed his eyes at me and he saw me staring the waitress down, and chuckled slightly. She sat us at our table and said, "Here is your table." She pulled out Lijah's chair and not mine. I said down, annoyed. This was supposed to be such a special night. Revenge would be mine. She handed Elijah his menu with a flirtatious look and she didn't even say anything to me and three the menu at me. I had enough with her. I put my foot out before she turned around to leave, and she tripped over my heel and fell right on her face. I tried to contain my laughter. I managed to do so, and she got up and went to the front.

"I can see that you were frustrated with her." Lijah said.

"Well of course. She was hitting on you. This is supposed to be our night." I said.

"True, my darling. Very true." He said. I opened the menu, and so did Elijah. I peeked up at him and he was looking at me. I looked back down and saw that there was "Le poulet rôti", which is chicken. I decided to have that, with my dessert being crepes. A waiter came over to us, and he was male. Thank god, not another girl to hit on my Lijah.

"Hello, my name is Oliver. I will be taking care of you tonight. Would you like me to speak to you in French or keep going in English?" He said looking at us.

"Um, French please." I said. Lijah looked surprised.

"Oui. Bonjour! Je m'appelle Oliver. Vous désirez mademoiselle?" He said.

"Uh, je voudrais le poulet rôti, s'il vous plaît."

"Et comme boisson?"

"L'eau."

"Merci, Et pour l'homme?"

"Um, I don't speak French very well. Um, but I will have le poulet rôti as well." Lijah stated clearly to the waiter.

"And to drink?" The waiter asked.

"Red wine please." Lijah said.

"Merci. I will be back with your bread basket." He said as he winked to me. Lijah looked furious.

"Um, excuse me?" Lijah said. The waiter came back and said,

"Yes sir?" Lijah looked into his eyes and said,

"Please do not hit on my girlfriend. We are trying to have a nice night. You will regret hitting on her again." Did he just call me his girlfriend??

"Yes Sir." He said, and walked away.

I looked at him with confusion, and he said, "Is there something wrong darling?"

"No, it's just...how did you do that?" I asked curiously.

"Do what?" He said, sipping his water.

"He looked hypnotized or something. What did you do to him, Lijah?" I replied.

"I didn't do anything. I just told him to stop bothering you. Our night, remember?" He said.

"Yeah, right. Sorry. I just didn't think he'd stop." I replied.

"It's quite alright, sweetie. Let's just enjoy tonight." He said, holding my hand from across the table. The waiter then came back with a bread basket for us, and Lijah cut me a piece and buttered it for me and handed it to me.

"Thank you, Lijah." I said. He nodded and smiled.

"Scarlet, I think we need to discuss that you should give me lessons on how to speak French. I've lost the language from when I was younger." He said with a smirk.

I chuckled. "Sure, anything for you Lijah." I said. While we ate our dinner, we talked about our families. I went first. "Well, when I was 11, my parents went on a business trip to Florida for a weekend, while my older brother Patrick was taking care of me. He was 13 at the time. I was watching the news on the morning they were to come back, and it said that at their business convention they were visiting, they were assassinated. It was a scam to kill all the big people in the marketing industry, and my parents were in that field. So, now, my babysitter is my brother Patrick. He was homeschooling me, and I finally got him to have me live with Caroline, Elena, and Bonnie at Caroline's house. My brother finally then signed us up for a free public school, Mystic Falls High School." I said.

"Oh, Scarlet. I'm so sorry honey. I had no idea. I'm so sorry for your loss." He said. It looked like he was about to get upset and cry.

"Oh it's ok. Really. Don't worry about it." I said.

"Ok. Well I guess it's mine turn now. So, I'm the oldest of my 3 other brothers. You know all of them, well except Finn because he's not around any more. He left us, and then he supposedly died. Rebekah, well you know her pretty well. Your both really good friends. Kol, he can be very inappropriate at times, as you can probably tell. Niklaus, he usually pushes away anyone that could possibly care about him. I mean, you could end up trying to be friends with him, but, I really wouldn't suggest doing that. He'd eventually turn his back on you and hurt you. I don't want that to happen to you, of anybody else." He said, breathless.

"I'm sorry for your loss of Finn." I said upset.

"It's quite alright. He was always the quiet one in the family. He just left out of the blue to be with a girl named Sage. He was killed over in New Orleans when he left. Now Niklaus wants to go there because he wants to take care of some business." He said.

I was absolutely fascinated by Elijah. He was the most sophisticated person that I knew, and he was so caring of other people it was unbearable at times. I examined his face after a short while, and I had accidentally cut my skin on my palm with a knife. I winced at the pain, and when i looked up at him, he started to grow veins under his eyes, and his eyes grew darker. I jumped, and I was scared. He opened his mouth, and I saw fangs. I got up immediately, and ran outside. I was contemplating what I should say to him when and if he decides to come out of the restaurant.

He was a vampire. No that couldn't be. Vampires aren't real. It's just fiction. But when I think about it, he did say something about Niklaus keeping Kol in a coffin for a long time. I was getting even more confused, and scared to know what was happening to Elijah.

I suddenly heard a voice say, "Scarlet?" It was Elijah...
