Chapter 7: History Lessons

I was scared to even look at him. "Scarlet?" He asked again.

"Yes?" I asked frantically moving. My back was still facing him.

"Please. I can explain what you just saw." He said. I started to cry. I turned around and his face looked fine. He walked toward me, and I fell into his arms.

"What was that?" I asked crying into his chest.

"Shhhh. Let me take you into the back of my car and I'll explain everything. Please stop crying honey." He said patting my back. He took my hand, and we got into the back seat of his car.

We sat down, and he gave me a tissue. "Darling, I'm so sorry. I wanted to tell you this before but I was afraid that you wouldn't want to be with me." He said.

"Of course I wanna be with you regardless what happens. Just please tell me what you are as what's going on." I said wiping away my tears.

"Surely. Let's start with my parents. My mother was a witch, and her name was Esther. My dad is a vampire, and his name is Mikael. They didn't think we were safe when me and my siblings were human, so they gave us the power of being vampires, and we were officially immortal. We can't die. Me and my siblings have been around for over 1,000 years. We are the Original vampires, meaning we are the first vampires ever. Eventually, my parents kept running after us and chasing us out of every other home we had made. So, we eventually ended up killing them because they were going to try to kill us. Finn isn't really dead, though. There is a way that we can be knocked out cold for however long you want. You have to stab an original vampire with a stake of any kind, and they will decapitate. Until you take the stake out of them, they remain unconscious. So, Niklaus wants to go back to New Orleans to re-claim it since we started to establish that town, which is the French Quarter. But, Niklaus is the most dangerous because he is a hybrid. Meaning he is half vampire and half werewolf. He was born in the werewolf bloodline, and he became a vampire as well. So he broke the moon curse, which officially turned him into a hybrid. Sorry if that's a lot of information to handle, sweetheart." He said.

"Who else is a vampire that I might or do know?" I asked curiously.

"Well, Niklaus, Rebekah, Kol, Elena, Caroline, Stefan, Damon, and I think that's it." He said.

"How did they not tell me..." I said disappointed.

"It's ok sweetie." He said, "It'll be alright." He then kissed me, and I instantly forgave him because he was such a good person and I couldn't bare to lose him.

"Lijah, can I spend the night with you please? I don't want to go home." I said.

"Sure honey." He said smiling. Elijah got in the driver's seat as I laid down in the back seat, so frightened. The ride to his house was silent. When we got there, he stopped the car. He went to the backseat, and he picked me up and we were up in his room in a flash.

"How'd you do that so fast?" I asked.

"I'm super fast. Perks of being a vampire." He said smiling and kissing my cheek. He laid me down on the bed. He took off my shoes. He took my clutch and put it on the bedside table. He slipped my dress off and gave me an oversized t-shirt and shorts. They were huge on me of course because Lijah is so much bigger than me. I took my makeup off, and he changed into his pajamas, and we both went into his bed. I pulled my hair into a ponytail, and Lijah held me into his arms. My head was leaned into his chest, and he had his arms wrapped around my waist, and his head was laid on top of mine.

~In the middle of the night~

I woke up to a loud bang, and I didn't feel Lijah's arms around me. I didn't want to get up because Lijah would tell me to go back to bed right away. I heard people talking from the other room because the door was open.

"Elijah, why would you tell her?" It was Niklaus...

"Niklaus, I didn't have a choice. She was bound to find out from someone else eventually. She is the only human who knows us and doesn't know what we are." Elijah replied.

"That's a lie. Cami doesn't." Niklaus responded in a defensive tone.

"She doesn't because you compel her to forget. That doesn't count." Lijah said. Compel? What kind of powers to they have??

"Elijah..Just make sure she doesn't tell anyone and we should be fine." Kol said faintly.

"Yes, brother. I wish it was like that with everyone. She won't say anything. She's just upset because Elena and Caroline didn't tell her what they were. She also doesn't know Bonnie is a witch either.." Lijah replied. Bonnie's a witch? Why didn't anyone tell me any of this?

"Lijah, you should really think about that before you say anything to anyone." Rebekah said disappointed.

"Bekah, I HAD NO CHOICE! I'm done talking about this!" Lijah yelled out. I started to shake and cry.

"She's crying now. Great Elijah. Good going. So smooth. This is why she should be with me, not you." Niklaus said.

Elijah walked in the room and laid down next to me. "Darling, what's wrong?" He asked holding me.

"They didn't want me to find out, did they?" I asked.

"No, they didn't think it would be necessary. But I felt different about the situation. I felt guilty not telling you. I mean, you would have found out eventually anyway." He said, "Don't worry about it."

"What's compelling?" I asked confused.

"It's when a vampire can tell anyone basically to think something, or forget something, or to stop doing something." He said.

"So when that waiter stopped hitting on me, you compelled him to stop?" I asked.

"Yes. That's correct." He said, "Now let's get some sleep darling." As I closed my eyes, Klaus walked in.

"Brother, Caroline is on the phone. She wants to talk to Rose." He said. He handed me the phone.

"Hello?" I said.

"SCARLET! Oh my god, your alive." She said.

"Why wouldn't I be." I said annoyed.

"Oh nothing..." She said.

"Care, I know. You can stop hiding it from me." I said.

"Who told you." She said.

"Elijah." I said.

"Oh. I'm so sorry. We were gonna tell you but we thought that you'd get freaked out." She said.

"I mean I would rather have you tell me sooner than later. How long have you two been like this." I said.

"For about a couple months." She said.

"Wow...See you in the morning." I said as I hung up the phone.

"Wow. She's gotta a grudge." Klaus said, "I like that about you." I handed the phone back to him and didn't say anything. He left the room and let us be.

I went right back to cuddling against Elijah. I fell asleep almost instantly, and Lijah was holding me so tight.
