Chapter 18: Will This Be Perfect?

I thought that yesterday would never end because of the situation with Klaus. But I just had to think past that, and live through today...because it's only a couple hours before my party, and I've already got my license from this morning. But being 17 feels amazing now that I can drive. 

My party starts at 7pm, and it ends at 2am...Bekah must really love me to have booked the venue for that long. It was 11am, and Bonnie was taking me to Alyssa's Hair and Makeup, which was my regular salon I would go to. I trusted them with anything when it came to hair and makeup, and my stylist was Alyssa, the owner. I walked in with Bonnie, and I walked up to the front desk where Selena, the receptionist always sat.

"Hello, Rose! Here for your big day?" Selena asked.

"You bet Selena!" I responded.

"I thought so! We've been talking about it all week! Oh wow Rose, your nails are so cute!" I forgot that I still had my nails done from my first date with Elijah. Well, at least I wouldn't have to spend the time in a nail salon to get them done now. That was the first plus of the day. "So, who is your friend? You usually come with Caroline." She smiled at us.

"Oh, this is my best friend Bonnie! Caroline is at the venue setting up with Rebekah already." I replied. Bonnie smiled and greeted Selena. I could tell she was going to switch to this salon soon enough. 

I looked at the interior of the salon...it was beautiful. The walls were covered with light crème paint, with a black lace edge on the bottoms. The walls had a chevron pattern, and the floors contained beautiful dark brown wood. There were a bunch of styling stations on one side, and the same amount of makeup stations on the other side. 

As i looked around the interior of the salon and the fancy hair products, Alyssa came out of the back of the salon. "ROSE! Welcome back! I'm so excited for today! Come sit down! And bring your friend!" 

We both smiled, and we walked towards Alyssa. I sat down in the styling chair and Bonnie sat right next to me. I unlocked my phone and showed Alyssa the style that I wanted. It was a French Braided Bun, with some curls sticking out on the sides. I know it's only October, but I felt my hair would've looked best up.

After Alyssa finished everything, I looked at myself in the mirror, and I was so satisfied and so proud of the job she'd done. I hugged her, and thanked her so many times I lost track. She told me she would see me later with Selena because we invited her last minute. We payed, and we left. 

When we left the salon, Bonnie looked confused. "Bonnie what's wrong?" 

"Oh nothing. I'm just trying to figure out if I want to get us Starbucks or Dunkin'....cause we like both. You know what? You can choose Rose. What would you like?" 

"Can we get Starbucks?!" I yelled excitedly. 

"Of course!" Bonnie smiled, and we were on the way to the nearest Starbucks. We walked inside, and I ordered my favorite, which was a S'mores frap, and Bonnie ordered a Caramel frap. When we got our drinks, we went back into the car and were on the way home. We both practically jumped out of the car, and went inside the house. We went upstairs to our room, and sat down on the bed together. Elena wasn't home..she probably went to the venue with Care this morning.

We were drinking our fraps when Bonnie started staring at my dress hanging up on the door. "You're gonna look so beautiful tonight. It's all about you Rose..nothing is going to go wrong. We all love and care about you. But I wanted to tell you one thing...keep Elijah. I'm telling you this because I feel like you complete each other, and if you guys aren't together, the whole night won't seem the same. Don't let Klaus, Damon, Kol, or whoever get in the way, and if they really love you, they'll accept that you are with Elijah, and they will only want you to be happy. Besides, I heard Elijah's got a great present for you as well." I smiled at Bonnie. She was always the person who i could always get the right advice from, and I could always talk to her about anything without her getting upset, and I loved that about her. 

Bonnie and I packed my bag for the party and her bag until it was 5:30. I started to get dressed with Bonnie's help, and we had to be at the venue by 6:30pm so I could help Care and Elena finish setting up. I also had to print out my 17 candles speech. The 17 candles speech is when you have a candle board with your name on it, and you light 17 candles of the 17 people/groups of people who are important to you in your life. After I got dressed and printed the speech out, it was 6:00, and Bonnie and I went into the car with everything and headed to the venue. 

When we arrived at the venue at 6:30, we walked in and I saw Care frantically running around with Elena trying to get the table decorations set up. Care was wearing her long green strapless dress, Elena was wearing her long blue dress, and Bonnie was wearing her long black and white lace dress. Everything was beautiful, and the theme was black and white. I blended in amazingly with the color of my dress. Elena turned towards the doorway and saw Bonnie and I standing there. Elena ran over to us, and she hugged us in a circle. "Wait for me guys!" Caroline yelled. As we hugged, a flash came over us. We broke the hug, and I turned and saw my photographer Emily. Emily has been a great friend of mine ever since I was little, and I was so happy she was hired by Caroline to take my pictures for the night. I walked off with Emily to take individual pictures, and 7:00pm rolled by faster than I could imagine. I stood in front of a beautiful backdrop that said "Scarlet's 17th Birthday". I first took a picture with Bonnie, then Elena, then Caroline, and then one shot with all of us in it.

As I was talking to them with my back to the door, I heard footsteps come into the room. I turn around to see Alyssa and Selena from the salon. I took pictures with them, and they both complimented on how I looked. I thanked them, and they took their seats. After a while, I couldn't keep track of who entered the party room and took pictures with me because so many people from school and my family came to my party. I was just waiting on a couple group of people...The Originals, and some of my other friends. Mostly the Originals

Soon enough, Damon and Stefan walked in. I greeted them and took a picture with them. Stefan complimented my dress and went to go find Elena. I was left with Damon, and I pulled him aside because I wanted to tell him that I wanted Elijah to be my escort tonight. "Damon, I wanted to tell you something.."

"You want Elijah to be your escort, don't you." He said. How did he know?

"How did you know that?" I asked, confused.

"I could sense it from you. Don't worry, blondie. I'm not mad. Go ahead, be with him..I know you love him, and he loves you. Have fun Scar." He kissed my hand, and walked over to Caroline. I really appreciated Damon, and I know that he respects me and wants me to be happy....just like Bonnie told me earlier..

I was talking with Bonnie telling her what happened in front of the backdrop, when I heard a car door close. I looked out the window with the corner of my eye...and it was them...here we go. I pretended to not see them, and I heard footsteps come into the room, and I was scared to look and see who came in first. It was Rebekah.

"Oh my god almighty! Rose!!!!" She ran up to me and hugged me, and I heard Elijah mumbling in the hallway.

"I think I'll need to send Rebekah to a Catholic school so she'll learn to not curse anymore, Kol. What do you think?" I couldn't see them, but I could hear them talking. I took a lot of pictures with Rebekah, and she hugged me again.

"Scar, you look so beautiful. That dress was such an amazing choice, and everything completes this look. And oh, I have a surprise for you." She said.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Come on out Elijah." I froze. Elijah walked into the room, with a burgundy suit, with a gold handkerchief in his front jacket pocket, and his hair was perfectly quaffed how I loved it. We stared at each other, and he took a couple more steps towards me, and I ran into him arms, and he just held me. 

"Hello Scarlet. I missed you so much." He said in his soft tone of voice, which I loved. I looked up at him and smiled.

"Hello, escort." He smiled at me and held my hand and guided me to the backdrop, ready to take pictures. Lijah and I must've taken at least 20 pictures in 20 different poses. "I'll see you soon in the hallway." He said as he kissed my forehead.

Kol then walked up to me, smirking. Man was he attractive, but such a jerk. "Hey Rose. How's it going?" He asked.

"It's going alright, Kol. Picture?" I responded.

"Oh, of course, Rose. I'd never turn down a picture with you." He said smirking, and Emily took our picture, and he walked off to his seat. 

I could tell already that this night would be as perfect as I'd been planning...
