Do you have a moment in life where everything feels fucked up? No matter what you do, every single thing doesn't go as you planned. Something has to go wrong and not just a teensy tiny bit of wrong. No, it's a whole stabbing your toe on the table kind of wrong.

I quickly take cover behind the big vase in front of me, hiding from their view as I peek ahead. All the guest have scattered around with their keycards. Some took the elevators to their room while others made their way to the open bar down the hallway on the right.

I kept my focus on Funker and Victor. A double trouble in my books and watch them talk. They exchanged some words, I felt the tense shoulders of Victor from here as he agreed on something and shook hands together.

Funker left with a shoulder pat, dragging his stupid blue carry-on behind. As for Victor, he looked suspiciously weird and flustered. He kept looking around as if someone would point him out in the crowd for killing the president.

My phone buzzed inside my back pocket. Without taking my eyes off him, I took my phone out and answered.

"Olivia,"

It was Klaus.

"Now is not the time Klaus. I've got my eyes on Victor,"

"Who?" he asked,

"Leona's husband,"

"He is in LA?"

"Yep. He's working with Funker. Came with him looking all friendly and shit like old besties. I don't know how they know each other but judging by Leona's connection with Benedict and the board it wouldn't be too hard for him to find out about them,"

"Didn't you kill him at the lake house?"

I slightly move to my right, careful to not drop the vase as Victor takes a seat in the open lounging area taking a call. "I sedated him. I didn't kill him,"

"Why? You knew he would come after you knowing his wife was murdered,"

"How would he know it was me? There's no evidence. Asher cleaned all of it and disguised her death as suicide." I said squinting my eyes at Victor. What is he doing?

I see him take a Kleenax out of his pocket and write something on it while balancing his phone between his shoulder and ear. The rigidity of his actions and constant lookout to make sure no one had their eyes on him is suspicious. He is hiding something.

"You think he wouldn't doubt? He must've found something that brought him to LA with Funker, Liv. You can't rule him out just because he's not on your hit list,"

Klaus was wrong. I am not ruling him out. In fact, I am doubtful of him. Leona Keller's murder was messy. Not only Asher's sudden interruption at the lake house had me flustered, but the carelessness of leaving the raw scene in his hands was a mistake on my side.

Of all the murders that Asher has cleaned behind my back, I had no doubt he would excel at his job in concealing my identity from the scene but as a killer who killed someone, I should've done a better job than just running away because her husband of five years suddenly showed up and saw her bare face.

I forgot about Victor and his dumb ass I sedated near the lake. I forgot about the later part of the plan where I thought of framing him for his wife's murder. Just because he isn't a target to me doesn't fade his ugly hands from the world. He isn't an innocent person.

I know all his involvement in the sex trade and illegal gambling he does in Gentleman's Club. I left a madman out and I need to make things right before he steps on my shoes and makes things difficult for me.

I pressed the phone closer to me as Victor got up and started heading to an empty corridor across the hallway from the bar. "I don't think you have to worry about Victor here Klaus. I can deal with him, just tell me why you really called,"

He is silent for a second but the urgency and panic are audible in his every breath.

"Klaus, what did you find?"

Victor stops walking and stands in the middle of the corridor. I took cover and leaned against a wall at a distance. He checks the area, swiveling his head left and right before looking at the Kleenax and continuing his walk again.

"I am not sure how to tell you this. A few days ago after your injury, Asher asked me to look into Marcello and confirm his whereabouts that he told to you. It's not a lie his daughter was kidnapped by Benedict's men but here's a thing,"

My steps falter when Victor enters a door in the far corner of the room. I saw the unauthorized sign and quickly hid behind the wall as he looked back to confirm if he was alone. All of a sudden, the air around me turns dark and eerie.

My senses hike and alert me that something wrong is happening behind that door. Careful of my surroundings, I take a quick look at the CCTV on the top corner of the room guarding the door with its direct vision. Gladly, the wall I was using as a shield hid me but I needed to cover them.

I can't reveal my face and barge into a strange room without knowing what is behind the doors. I am not armed and Asher might still be in the meeting if those bodyguards didn't actually report me. I didn't get a call from him so I think he's letting me have some break.

I could use this time and find out why Victor is acting suspiciously and for that, I need Klaus's help.

I look at my watch, "Get it over with Klaus. I need your help with something,"

"I know, I currently have my eyes on you," he admits,

"What?"

"When I found out the thing I am going to tell you in a second, I had to hack into the system of the hotel you're staying at. At first, I wasn't sure if I should do without telling you but then you mentioned Victor and I knew I had to so the CCTV you're hiding from, you don't have to Liv. It's already been hacked by me. I'll blink the red light twice and you can come out and go to the door Victor headed for. Once you're inside then I am going to say the thing I found out, all right?"

"What the hell are you talking about, Klaus? I know you have a weird obsession with puzzles and mysteries but this is not the time to play with them,"

"I am not playing. I seriously can't tell you right now. You need to get inside the door and see for yourself,"

"If you didn't plan to tell me then why the fuck did you call?"

He sighs, "I called to warn you about Victor. I didn't know you had already seen him."

"Wait, you knew he would come here?"

"Yes. That and Marcello's daughter."

My heart skipped. "Klaus,"

"I found her."
