The flashlight nearly dropped from my hands as I took the dirty secret of Benedict in front of my eyes. Shock blinded my vision with distaste.

"Klaus," My voice came out in a stiff whisper. Throat raw and suddenly tight of the atmosphere. "Get Asher and call for backup now,"

"Why? What happened?" he inquired but I didn't have time to explain to him what I was seeing right now. Fury climbed inside me as impulsiveness dictated my actions. I held the flashlight in my mouth and got to my full height before jumping inside the basement.

The height was too much but I didn't care. Right now, my only priority was to get them out of here. When the torch landed on the corners of the washing machine, I didn't expect to discover underage girls tied to a series of chains inside. I thought Benedict would hide only Kaia which isn't any better but counting the number of scared faces in the present was too much.

This is sick. Unacceptable to the point I can't even begin to explain. How can some be so evil? No filter, no shield just pure evil. Even devils are a better by-product of the bad but Benedict. He has crossed all limits.

The sound of my boots graveled against the silence. The floorboard creaked with my weight and an inaudible gasp broke in the room. I quickly took my flashlight off my mouth and pointed to the barely conscious girls.

One, two, three, four and five.

There were five of them. All are tied to individual metal chains by the washing machine whose sole purpose was to hold them and provide a weight in the room to capture their fragile wrists.

I looked left and right, checking the corners of this room before stopping at their faces. Four of them were passed out and one was almost on the verge of passing out. Their weakness highlighted under my flashlight. Narrow cheekbones, taut muscles pulling their skin around their stomach, sunken eyes, charred lips that showed thirst, dirty old clothes that looked like rags, scarred feet and marks around their wrist from the chains.

I am going to kill that son of a bitch so fucking badly he will regret ever being born. Every torture, every kill that I did held me back somehow. I didn't unleash my years of suppressed anger on them. The rage for their actions, the decisions they took that upend my life, some part in me always held back but it wont anymore.

Benedict will see me at my rawest, most ugliest form when I will kill him. Torture him till he begs for mercy and still I won't give him.

Shaking the rage for a useless bastard, I focus on getting these girls out before anyone comes. The only way I can see out is the ceiling through which I came through but it's got a height. A big one. Around eight or nine feet. With the way their bodies look, I hardly think they could jump.

I need help.

Frantically, I walked with my flashlight, touching, and knocking on the walls to find something. A hidden door, a window? Anything but nothing. I stopped in front of them for a second, checked their pulse then hurried again.

I looked behind the washing machine, any vents that pass through, cords that connect the machine. Nothing.  "FUCK!!!!" I grip my hair,

"Liv, talk to-o...me," Klaus said but his voice breaks because of the network.

"There's no out here," I said moving away from them.

"Wh..hat?"

"There's no fucking way out of here. The only one that is nine feet up at the ceiling," Instantly I look up at the open hatch.

"Liv, I can't h-hear you but I...tol-d Asher. He's on..his-way. Just hold till-"

The line disconnected.
