[Y/n's pov.]
"Put that down!" repeats the girl. I would love to look at her, but my eyes are too busy watching another girl that's holding gun to my face. She has a bandanna around her face, leaving only her eyes visible. I'm quite focused on those, as they are awfully familiar ones. She has blonde hair braided to one side, resting on her shoulder.
"Move!" she said, moving her gun to get me and Newt to go to the group. We slowly, with our hand up in the air, move closer to the group, standing together. Now I see the other girl, she has darker skin tone than the first one, and bandanna covering her face too. However she has quite long, brown dreadlocks, tied up to high ponytail. Their eyes are scanning our faces, as more guns are pointed at us. They look at everyone but both of them have to look back at one person many times, as their eyes twitch back and forth.
"Aris?" asks finally the girl with dreadlocks, looking at the boy hiding somewhere in the back. He looks hesitant to even look up, but once he does, both the girls put down the guns and pull down their bandanas. Aris' eyes start to shine with realization that he knows these ladies, and they are his friends he thought he'd never see again.
"Harriet, Sonya!" he said and all three of them leaped towards each other to embrace themselves in a hug.
"I'm so glad you're okay! We thought you were dead." said the blonde one, still hugging Aris. We all are just standing there awkwardly, our hands still up in the air.
"We could have put a bullet through you!" said the other girl, before pulling away and whistling on her fingers. "It's okay we know them! They're clear!" she yelled afterwards, her voice sounding through the canyon. I looked around, my arms still in the air, as more people slowly appeared on the canyon.
"What's happening?" asked Minho finally, as we still stood there awkwardly.
"We were together in the maze." Aris said turning away from the girls. Sonya put her hands on his cheeks, really gently, like she couldn't believe he was real.
"Oh my god, you are alive." she said happily.
"Come one guys, we need to get you somewhere else." decided Harriet, looking around the canyon, scanning the place. We all looked at each other, before putting our trust into these girls. As they started walking and leading the way, I waited for Newt, as I slipped my hand into his, needing to feel his touch. Newt just looked at our hands, before tightening his grip and continuing walking.
"Back it up Joe." sounded Sonya's voice, as there was a car blocking a way in. We entered, looking around, it was another part of the same canyon. The car started backing up, granting us an entrance.
"I'm sorry, excuse me, we are just looking for the Right Arm, do you know where we could find them, maybe?" said Thomas to Harriet and Sonya, as we stopped by another car.
"Hop in." said Harriet, opening door for us. I looked at Jorge, as he looked at me too, before entering the car with no problem. Brenda followed. I entered next, hoping this won't be my death. Everyone else piled up in after, sitting down in the trunk of the car, as the girls went to the front into driver and shotgun seat, starting the car, and driving into the unknown.
After some time we finally reached the final destination. And throughout this ride, I was not the one that initiated a need of contact. My heart was leaping with excitement, when Newt carefully took my hand in his and laced our fingers together. Once we got to the destination we slowly got out of the car one by one. Newt would not allow our hands to disconnect for a longer than necessary. I looked around, it was a camp, many tents stood up, people running around, everyone had something to do, and if not, they were just chilling around, talking with friends. The constant buzz reminded me so much of the Glade, as I felt myself beam with happiness of familiar place, and sadness, knowing how much and who all we left behind. I turned to look around my friends and companions, firstly landing my eyes on Newt, who was watching me, face concerned as if he could read my thoughts. HE just squeezed my hand, and even though it was nothing of a huge gesture, I had to smile, as it made me feel so much better. We made it, we are safe. There is the Right Arm, we have nothing to worry about.
I continued my journey of looking at the faces of my companions, as most of them were relieved, relaxed or concerned. It all seemed fine, until my eyes landed on Brenda. She did not look good. She looked like she had fever, sweating, eyes constantly heavy and her breathing was very uneven and uneasy.
"Harriet! Who is this?" my thoughts were ripped apart by man's voice, as I turned my head away from Bren.
"This is Aris-" she stared explaining, not being let to finish.
"Did you check 'em?" he asked nodding towards us.
"This is Aris, I- we trust him." started Harriet patiently, not finally finishing her sentence. She also remembered to add Sonya to the fact that she trusts Aris, to make it more bulletproof.
"But I don't. Check them!" snapped the man, ordering to people around. But Brenda was faster with her movement. At first I thought she started running, but then I realized she face planted the ground, her breathing raspy, shallow and very desperate as she drew in each bit of air.
Chaos began. Men started shouting, guns were loaded and pointed, Brenda was gasping for air desperately, Jorge and Thomas were shouting at the men around.
"You brought in crank!" yelled the man.
"Get away from her!" shouted another one.
"No! Don't shoot!! She'll be fine!" Were Thomas' words. There was a lot of shouting and I was only catching snippets of the sentences. I also feared the guns that were pointed at us, again. It wasn't until now, that I realized Newt pushed me slightly behind him, guarding me with his body.
"Stop! It's okay! He can help us!" yelled a woman, as the guns were slowly put down.
"She's infected, no one can help her!" snapped back the man.
"He can. Hello Thomas, you're finally here." smiled the lady, as we all watched her in awe.
