Road To The Top 16: Lenny vs Preston!

Braeden's POV

My friends and I were all in shock.

"What... was that...?" I said, still dropping my jaw.

"The Terastal Phenomenon..." Declan said. "I've heard of it before, but this is my first time seeing it."

"I don't understand..." Said Shimon as Tuco's Sudowoodo returned back to its normal state. "They changed their type? On the fly?"

"That's amazing." Lenny said. "I wish I could do that."

"Who knew Tuco was from Paldea?" Said Dylan.

"Poor Jailen though..." Said Daniel.

"Yeah but he did his best." I smiled as Jailen thanked his Boldore, and returned it to its Poké Ball.

"You did really good Boldore..." Jailen said with disappointment as Tuco met up with him on the battlefield.

"Great battle Jailen." Tuco smiled. "I wanted to keep my Tera Orb a secret until the Alola Championships, but you forced me to use my full power. You're pretty strong!"

Jailen sighed, but then smiled.

"Thanks Tuco." He said. "But... I'm pretty disappointed..."

"Don't be." Tuco smiled as he helped Jailen stand back up. "Your Pokémon fought well for you man. Be proud of them!"

"Tuco seems different than from the Gauntlet Of Fists." Said Dylan. "I'd like to battle him again soon."

"The next battles will begin soon." Said Mr. Kincaid as we all looked up at the jumbo screen, seeing Lenny's face matched up with a person we didn't recognize named Preston.

"Yes!" Lenny pumped his fist. "Battle time!"

"Wonder who this Preston guy is." Said Shimon.

"Well he's in the Top 16." I said. "So he's gotta be strong."

"Brae." I heard an attractive voice say my name, and I turned around to see Alayah.

"Alayah? What's up?" I asked her.

Something seemed weird though... she wasn't making eye contact with me, and her face was burning a deep red.

She reached over, and grabbed my hand.

"Come with me." She said.

I looked back at my friends. Their reaction killed me.

Dylan and Declan were nodding their heads with their arms crossed. Lenny and Daniel both gave me thumbs up with a serious expressions of approval, Willis and Shimon winked at me.

"Y-Yeah. I'll be right back guys." I told them as I then left with Alayah.

Jailen's POV

I returned to my friends but... I felt incredibly embarrassed. All of that confidence, and I still went and lost.

"You okay man?" Lenny asked.

I sighed.

"I'm okay guys." I said. "But what the hell was that?! What is Terasballgliding?!"

"It's Terastalizing..." Dylan sweat dropped. "That was my first time seeing it too."

"It was a good battle though Jailen." Said Shimon. "You didn't give up until it's over, and I really respect that man."

"Agreed." Said Willis. "After seeing that Terastal Phenomenon like that, I might've panicked."

Daniel then put his hand on my shoulder.

"You did awesome Jailen." Daniel smiled. "Keep getting stronger. I haven't forgotten about your goal."
