A year later
Jisoo as usual enters Haein's cell punctually, with a book in her hands. Since that day they hugged, she would always bring a children's book for him to read. Haein would enjoy it but doesn't understand because of his abnormal development during his childhood.
Jisoo doesn't allow the guards to tie Haein to the chair anymore because he is not extremely hypnotic and violent now.
haein finds him having this weird feeling he never felt before. Whenever she sits there and read with her soothing voice, Haein finds his tense muscles relaxing, his mind full of chaos empty up. Having this peaceful moment gives him a feeling he can yet find words to describe."So, at the end, the prince and princess live happily ever after."
"Ms. Kim, Why is the ending always like that?"
"Because every prince finds their princess because of love and love keeps them together. Love is when your trust someone and having them around you makes you want to smile. You don't want them to leave."
"Ms. Kim, then I think I love when you are around me. I want to smile when you speak and I don't want you to leave."Haein hasn't developed the sense of shame and sometimes too blunt when expressing emotions.
Jisoo blushes so hard when hearing this brutally honest statement from him. This is the first time a man has ever compliments her in such a bold way. If she hears someone on the street saying this to her she would probably slap them immediately. Her face turns to a shade of pink and immediately stares into his eyes.
Haein is smiling, it's the cutest smile she has ever seen. She is totally lost in his smile and her heart is pounding fast.
The next second she panicks and stands up. Jisoo hates herself when she is doing the wrong thing while having the total knowledge that it's wrong to do so. She hates herself from being too soft for him. She hates herself liking her patient, it's against the ethics of psychiatrists. She hates herself for acting such way. She hates when a little action of him triggers her to blush.
Jisoo walks out of the cell blaming herself. If this is his trap, then she definitely fell into it.
Kim Jisoo, are you that stupid that you fell into your patient's trap? Where are all the rules and ethics you learned?
She also wonders that if her therapy worked, because Haein is much more calmer now and the signs of recovery is becoming more obvious everyday.
The next visit
"Ms. Kim, last time you left without saying goodbye."
"Yes...I had..eh, emergency."
"You are not good at lying Ms. Kim."
Jisoo doesn't speak for a while before taking out a file.
"Mr. Jung, I think after I read you so many stories you should start telling me a story, and I would appreciate if it's about yourself."
Haein lowers his head and it's dead silence in the cell. Jisoo is also sweating because it's either a success---he tells her a bit of his past, or fail---she loses all the trust she has built.
Minutes past and Jisoo doesn't dare to speak a word. She wonders if it's the right time to dig deep into his past. It's been a year, and it's ONLY been a year. She knows for some patients to open their hearts they might need several years. It's been five minutes and Haein hasn't spoke yet so Jisoo guesses it's not the right time to do so.
"It's Ok Mr. Jung, I could read you more sto..."
"Ms. Kim, sometimes I like to keep things to myself."
"It's Ok, you don't ha..."
"But are you really the one I can trust. Because Every, Single, Person that came into my life treated me the same way, I am a beast, right?"
