"I FEEL LIKE we're taking our dog for a walk," Beck muttered as she walked beside Liam through the preserve. Behind them Theo followed, his wrists handcuffed to a chain that Liam held tightly. To make sure he didn't run for it. Glancing over her shoulder, Beck glared at Theo. "One that needs to be put down."
"Hey, I can hear you," Theo grumbled as he was forced to follow the couple. "And I was promised that you wouldn't kill me."
"Doesn't mean I can't inflict bodily harm."
"This was a bad idea," Liam muttered, thinking over everything that had happened and what could happen.
"It is a terrible idea," Theo agreed, earning a yank of his chain from Liam. Stumbling a bit, Theo glared up at the back of Liam's head. "I told you where the transformer is. I told you how it works. I don't need to be there when it all blows up."
"And you're gonna be there to act as a human shield," Beck snapped, turning on her heels to glare at Theo. "Not to mention that none of us trust you enough to let you wander around Beacon Hills free. The minute this is over, you're going back in the ground. That's why you're going."
"Your boyfriend is trying to catch a ghost rider. A million things could go wrong. You do understand that, right?"
Liam released a sigh as he looked at Theo. "The bad idea was bringing him back. Scott's right. This is a mistake."
"Liam," Beck sighed as she looked at her boyfriend. "I'm not gonna argue that this all was a horrible idea, but you took a risk. And you felt that it was the right thing to do."
"So, you don't think I'm an idiot for bringing Theo back?" Liam asked cautiously.
"Oh no, you're definitely an idiot," Beck shook her head. Stepping forward, the small blonde closed the space between her and Liam. She lifted her hand, skimming her fingertips against Liam's cheek. "But you're my idiot. And I believe in you."
Leaning forward, Beck brushed her lips against Liam's. The two kissed gently before pulling apart, resting their foreheads together.
"You guys want me to leave you alone?" Theo asked from his spot. Biting her lip in agitation, Beck and Liam turned to look at the boy. "Oh, that's right... I can't," Theo snarked, lifting his handcuffs and chain in the air before dropping them dramatically.
Suddenly a clap of thunder rang out around them.
Releasing a breath, Beck glanced around her. "If we're gonna do this, we better hurry." She turned back to Liam, flashing a smile before giving him a quick kiss. "And we'll finish this later."
Liam smiled at the thought as Beck started walking. Yanking on the chain held in his hand, Liam forced Theo to continue walking.
WHEN THEY REACHED the old Dread Doctors lab, Scott was fixing a control box attached to a chain link fence in the middle of the room as Mase, Corey, and Tessa did some last-minute preparations.
