Third Person POV :
Both of them shared a quiet meal, but Jungkook hardly touched his food, occasionally-just occasionally sneaking glances at the adorable boy beside him, a soft admiration blooming in his chest.
The peaceful atmosphere was abruptly interrupted by Jungkook's ringtone. He hurried to answer the call, giving Taehyung a reassuring gesture that he would be back soon.
"Hyung!"
"Jungkook...I spoke to my friend," Seokjin replied, his voice urgent. "He'll be coming tomorrow to talk to you. I gave him your address. He might be busy today, but I sent you his number just in case. I have a meeting now. Talk later, okay? Bye." As the call ended, it took a minute for him to process the elder's words.
He was still in a gentle daze, replaying Taehyung's sweet, angelic voice in his mind-the way he had looked at him, pure and innocent. The way he had called Jungkook "Hyung" sent pleasant shivers down his spine.
Returning to the table, Jungkook absentmindedly began scrolling through his phone to find the contact Seokjin had sent. His breath hitched when he finally noticed Taehyung's curious gaze was fixed on the screen. He was saving the phone number by the name 'Jin Hyung's detective friend'. He gulped at the thought of the possible upcoming panic attack of Taehyung after seeing the name.
"Um, Tae, are you okay?" Jungkook asked, catching the boy's attention. Taehyung pointed hesitantly at the phone, seeming to seek an answer.
"What about your phone? Do you need to call someone?" Jungkook asked, holding his breath, hoping his assumption was wrong.
"Phone? Where are the keys?" Taehyung questioned, blinking innocently, and Jungkook let out a sigh of relief. Taehyung didn't catch upon the concept of contacting a cop. But then the thought dawned on Jungkook.
Wait...WHAT??
"Keys? Who even uses a phone with a keypad nowadays?" he chuckled, incredulous.
Taehyung pouted and tilted his head, genuinely curious. "How do you dial a number without keys?"
"You've never seen a smartphone?" Jungkook asked. He was taken aback by Taehyung's innocent shake of his head.
Seriously? Which era is he from? Who doesn't know a smartphone?
With a soft smile, Jungkook gently explained how a smartphone works, demonstrating it with patience. Taehyung's eyes sparkled with delight as he watched, and Jungkook found himself lost in the joy lighting up the younger boy's face.
That boxy smile! As expected, it was the most beautiful smile Jungkook had ever seen. It was mesmerizing enough to make him forget everything else, as though Taehyung were a celestial being, blissfully unaware of his earthly surroundings. He could spend a lifetime watching that smile.
Jungkook felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude, thanking whoever had invented this captivating device that was helping them connect. They both momentarily forgot about their lunch, engrossed in their shared discovery of the smartphone-the most dangerous and greatest addiction of the century.
The peaceful bubble was punctured by a loud growl from Jungkook's stomach, causing him to blush with embarrassment. But the sweet sound of Taehyung's giggles made it all worthwhile.
Honestly, he wouldn't mind being embarrassed a hundred times over if it means he would be blessed to hear Taehyung laugh like that. A smile spread across his face as he asked, "Shall we get back to our meal?"
