13. Dinner with Friends

Third Person POV :

Jungkook and Taehyung were basking in the warmth of each other's presence, their calm heartbeats filling the room when a gentle knock interrupted their moment. Jungkook turned, his gaze spotting Seokjin at the door. With a subtle gesture, Seokjin indicated that dinner was ready, and Jungkook nodded appreciatively.

Jungkook's mind wandered back to the conversation he had with Seokjin and Yoongi earlier. They were right; Taehyung needed to step out of his shell, to begin trusting the world beyond their little sanctuary. He couldn't let the shadows of fear hold Taehyung back any longer.

"Hmm...Tae?" Jungkook called gently, his voice wrapping around Taehyung like a cozy blanket. The younger boy nodded, a quiet hum escaping his lips. "Tae...look at me," Jungkook urged softly, his hands tenderly cupping Taehyung's face. As their eyes met, Jungkook felt a rush of warmth swell in his chest. He could see Taehyung's heart reflected in those deep brown eyes.

"Shall we go out and have dinner at the table? Like this afternoon?" Jungkook asked, hoping to light up Taehyung's spirit. Taehyung nodded cautiously, a small smile forming on his lips, making Jungkook's heart race.

"Even my friends are there... we can have dinner together. It will be fun," he added carefully, gauging Taehyung's comfort. However, he could see the flicker of doubt clouding Taehyung's smile, and Jungkook quickly softened his approach. "It's okay Tae...We can take it slowly. Maybe another time."

"D-do you... do you want to eat with them?" Taehyung asked after catching the hint of disappointment in Jungkook's expression. Jungkook nodded, though a slight uncertainty crept into his heart. "But only if you are okay."

Taehyung glanced down, fingers nervously entwining, lost in dilemma so Jungkook quickly added. "They are really nice people. I promise you'll like them. Isn't it good to make more friends?" Jungkook's voice was soft, coaxing, as he gently encouraged Taehyung.

The younger looked up, still hesitant but searching for a glimmer of bravery within himself. Trusting others had never come easily to him, and he still marveled at how he found solace in Jungkook's presence. But he is sure he can't be at ease with others even if Jungkook assured him that they are nice people.

"Tae... relax. We don't have to go if you don't want to. We can stay here, just like yesterday... okay?" Jungkook reassured him, noticing Taehyung's turmoil. But with a determined shake of his head, Taehyung spoke, "I-I w-will go with you."

Jungkook is doing so much for him. He should do at least this much for him, right? Even if he didn't want to, he wanted to go for Jungkook. He is fine as long as he is with Jungkook. Jungkook will protect him if anyone tries to hurt him. He promised and Taehyung has faith in those words...he trusts Jungkook.
