Lucas and Max both sit up together in the bed, Lucas being seated cris crossed in the middle of the bed with Max straddling him, her legs being wrapped around him with one of her arms around his neck, her other hand on his cheek while they both kiss each other softly.
The room is beautiful and they love it, it being a little beautiful space where their bed is, it holding a nice view of the city, curtains around the circular area if they wanted to block out the TV or other parts of their room.
Lucas closes his eyes when Max kisses down his neck, planting soft slow kisses on his skin. Lucas pulls her in closer, both of them being completely exhausted from today but them still not being able to go to sleep.
Lucas smiles at her when Max puts her forehead against his. "You look so cute with glasses."
Max laughs. "They're my reading glasses."
"I love it." Lucas tells her, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear making Max smile more.
"I love this." Max looks back down at her ring, and every single time she looks down at it the more she just completely smiles. It was honestly something she wasn't expecting at all, and it is not like she is against marriage, she always just thought Lucas wasn't the one for marriage and she was fine with that.
It just goes to show how much it means to her that he would do this for her.
"So have you been like....already thinking about this?" Max questions.
"Yes." Lucas responds. "Ever since that night of the graduation party when Erica came back, whenever me and Erica were walking together one night I just told her...I wanted to marry you."
Max smiles hard, her pursing her lips as she looks down, her feeling her cheeks heat up.
Lucas gently puts his fingers under her chin, making Max look back up at him. "Erica told me to go for it, but I knew in order for me to ask you with a absolutely clear conscience I had to do some things. So yes for these past three months I have been traveling around to see the progress of buildings of StarCourts around and also for Grand openings but also I visited Mike, Nancy Robin Vicki all of them, to tell them everything, including your parents."
Max's eyes widen a little bit. "Like....everything everything?"
"Yes." Lucas responds.
"Shit Lucas." Max begins to panic lightly. "What if—"
"It's okay." Lucas softly tells her. "I wanted them to know all of the truth, why you actually ran off during second semester of junior year. You were being painted for just running off without a second thought and that isn't fair Max, it was my fault and I needed them to know that. Yes they were mad, they were but in the end there was some level of understanding, and they knew I have changed, I was doing that way I can have a clear conscience Max, you didn't deserve that."
Max looks at him with a complete loving expression. It just makes her love him even more so, because with him telling them everything that puts him at risk, puts Erica at risk but he still did so.
His reputation...doesn't mean more than she does.
And that...
That causes tears to well up in her eyes.
Because that is what was holding them back before, his reputation, that is all he cared about before, and to hear and see that it doesn't trump her...it just makes her cry. Max blinks a little more to try and fight the tears but she can't, her lightly sniffling as she wipes them away.
"Come here." Lucas pulls her in closer, his large hand going to go on her soft cheeks, wiping the tears away softly that spring free. "Nothing compares to you Max. You're my everything you understand?"
