Chapter 4

Another week later

"So, tell me; where are you taking me?" He asked, letting her lead him up the stairs. She covered his eyes tighter in efforts to hide it and sat on him on her bed. She took her hands off his eyes and handed him a box.

"Meredith... what is this?" He asked, undoing the ribbon.
"It's to tell you how serious I am about you." She said.

He opened it and smiled wide, seeing a small puppy curled into a ball. It woke gently and he picked it up, holding it as she rested her head against his lap. The puppy was moving around in Finn's hands.

"And who are you?" He asked, laughing as he scratched its ears. It barked, small and quiet before he smiled.

"His name is Rufus. I'm taking care of him for the night for a friend. He is already trained so we have nothing to really worry about." She said.

"This is part of my plan one day." He said quietly, laying back on the bed and still holding the puppy. She got on the bed and laid beside him. The puppy laid beside them gnawing on a stuffed animal he had.

"Our plan." She corrected, kissing his lips and sitting up.
"Let's watch a movie, Rufus?" He asked rhetorically.
"I'll make the popcorn." She laughed as he followed her down the stairs.

An hour later, she was asleep against his chest, the bowl of popcorn in her hand no longer contained popcorn but the puppy. He had fallen asleep too and she woke up gently before nudging him. He opened his eyes and nodded, laughing with her as she placed the bowl on the floor. The puppy toppled out of if and curled onto the floor as she laid deeper into Finn. He laid backward and she rolled over him, her head on his chest.

"I didn't hear your roommates." He said gently.
"They all wanted to watch a surgery." She shrugged.
"You didn't?" He asked, holding her cheek.
"I did, but I've already seen it." She replied, smiling.
"I don't want you to sacrifice anything for me." He sighed.
"I'm not, trust me." She nodded, kissing him softly.
"I do." He nodded, "I do trust you."

She laid against his chest and they both fell asleep again, curling into each other and she felt herself calm down, letting her stomach spread out and expand. She let herself breathe regularly, not worried about anything.

Waking up, she made her way to the door and the puppy's bounding paws made her laugh as she opened the door. Launching through the door, he ran around the yard as she watched.

By the time she came back with the mail, the smell of eggs filled her lungs. She walked into the kitchen and watched him make eggs and bacon for them. They ate together and fed the leftover bacon to Rufus before she yawned.

"I have to shower." She said, helping him dry the dishes.
"Oh, alright. You want me to leave?" He asked.
"What?" She asked, looking up at him.
"I have a surgery at 12, and you have work no?" He asked.
"Come here." She said, scoffing as she led him.

He laughed as she opened the door to the bathroom. He watched her turn on the faucet. She unbuttoned his green shirt and he smiled as she pushed it off his shoulders. It landed on the floor almost silently and she unbuckled his belt, pushing his jeans down.

She turned around and his lips hovered over her neck, his nose brushing it gently. She let her head bend to give him more access, watching in the mirror as he gently gnawed on it. His tongue was warm and wet on her skin and she felt a slight jump in her throat as he pulled back and staring at her hungrily. He went back for more before his hands pulled her sweater and tank top up her body and over her head.

"Your bra is purple." He smiled, looking at it in the mirror.
"Violet." She gasped a breath as he unhooked it.

He knocked it off and immediately closed his eyes respectfully before moving his mouth back to her neck. He edged her pants off. Their undergarments came off and they showered each other, washing hair and body parts before slowly getting ready and making their way out of the house. The drove Rufus back to Meredith's friend before he dropped her off at the hospital.
