For a year, everything stopped.

The cryptic notes, the figures in the corner of your eye, and your constant feeling of uneasiness.

Everything.

Stopped.

So much can happen in a year.

First, you and Shin became official.

"What are we?" You asked Shin during dinner one night. The house was silent other than Shin slurping his noodles in that moment. He stared at you.

"Uhm... Well, I think that's something we should talk about together. It's not my decision."

"Okay," You leaned back in your chair, "So, you... like me."

Shin nodded his head, still eating his food.

"And I like you too." Again, Shin nodded, "So... are we like... are we dating? Does it just happen like that? Or do one of us need to ask?"

Shin looked thoughtful for a moment, then stood up.

He stood in front of you and held his hand out. You took his hand, and he pulled you in. He pushed some hair out of your face and asked, "Y/N, will you be mine?"

And you were so caught off guard by his question that you couldn't respond. He didn't lose courage, though. His fingers traced your features across your face as he waited for the response he knew you already had.

"...Yes."

Luckily you guys got that figured out before the new employees were hired. Yes, you read that right. And not one employee, but two!!

Two teenagers of the same age, but from different schools.

Nao squealed when you entered the break room to start your shift, "Y/N!" She had stood next to two teenagers. A girl with black hair, and a boy with white hair. "Y/N, oh my god!!" She whispered to you, trying to hide her excitement. Shin came in soon after you, "And Shin! I forgot you were working today, oops," She giggled to herself.

"What's up?" You asked Nao, glancing at the teens again.

She cleared her throat, "Ahem, uhm... Follow me to the office, please." She said, suddenly much calmer. The three of you walked past the two teens who awkwardly conversed amongst each other.

She closed the office door behind her and made an excited sound, "Okay, so!" She giggled a little, "Sorry, I'm excited. Ahh! Okay, so, those two came in for applications. Fun, right?!" You smiled at her and laced your fingers with Shins, who also smiled at Nao.

"They're both teens, so one of you will always be working when they're scheduled, since they can't sell alcohol or cigarettes. Unfortunately that means you won't be scheduled together as much anymore, but they're still in school so there will be times when you are, and they aren't there."

"That's great, Nao."

A few weeks later they started, and you got to officially meet them. The black-haired girl was named Ryoko Hirose and she'd often talk to you about this boy she liked. She was much perkier than the other one, but still much calmer than... Nao, for example. She got her job done well.
